You dont really know the Donald Trump I know.
Many right-wing figures lined up Friday night to criticize President Donald Trump for temporarily ending the government shutdown for three weeks without having convinced Congress to fund his proposed U.S.-Mexico border wall.
Controversial commentator Ann Coulter called Trump the biggest wimp ever to serve as president and Fox Business host Lou Dobbs said Trump had been whipped by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
Fox News Sean Hannity, however, had a different take.
The Hannity host, who is a staunch supporter of the president and even joined him on stage at a Missouri rally ahead of the 2018 midterms, insisted that Trump still holds all the cards when it comes to negotiating with Congress for the wall.
Hannity claimed that Trump would simply declare a national emergency to obtain the funds if he couldnt seal a deal for the wall with Congress during the next three weeks that the government is reopened...

What did the President gain after 35 days of waiting? I think it is a reasonable question to ask and it deserves a good answer. The longer the shut-down went the more critical it became that there would be something to show for it. If you are going to lay siege to a city you had better be prepared for some ugly outcomes before you ultimately take it. Lots of innocents are going to suffer and die before it all ends because after all you goal is to starve you enemy into submission.
The shut-down may have been part of a long process but it looks like a battle lost in the greater war. A sacrifice made for no gain and a lot of ammunition for his and our enemies. It gained him a lot of unhappy people if not new enemies who had been nothing but innocent bystanders. They too were at least significantly inconvenienced or more and that too accomplished nothing.
So now the speaker simply says the will of the people has spoken again and I have stopped the President from becoming a dictator. She did the same thing in the obamacare deal except she had a president on her side but did it against the howls of protest of more than just a few of the sheeple. Obamacare was rammed down our throats as good for us just like the border barrier is being withheld from us because some watery tart says so.
The President is technically in the fight to keep his campaign promises so technically he did not fold so long as you ascribe to the position that you are not beaten until you capitulate. There are other options he can take but the don’t look very good since they can easily be characterized as subverting the will of the people [the house] and in that case view I don’t think even the Supreme Court will stand with him. I think they could easily say that the emergency powers of the President are to be used as an expedient to execute the will and needs of the people. In that I am not saying the border barrier is not necessary or desirable. It is.
So what does he do? Realistically the only thing he can do that would be successful is to take his message more clearly than he already has to the people and get them to do his persuading of the house. The man is usually capable, is for the US and is a good fighter but he is playing against a stacked deck. He can’t do anything alone. So far his efforts appear unsuccessful. We don’t need a beautiful wall. We need an effective border barrier that will protect the majority of the people who are citizens of course. He has made this thing appear as a monument and not a mechanism of protection. We also need a lawful nation with leaders who will uphold the laws and they are not. There is only one lawful way to make them do that and that too has so far failed. Politicians are no better than the people who elect them and too many of the people are no damn good. Good will probably never triumph over evil on an even playing field by waging a fair fight because evil will never fight fair.
At best the President has retreated to regroup after having waged an unsuccessful battle in a long war that has really just begun. There may be a victory but it is also a war of attrition because there is a a time limit on it.
Actually it is ok to kill him at 12:06 if it is a botched abortion.
Thanks!
President trump needs our support, not our criticism at this time...I believe he knows exactly what hes doing...
He has shown in the past that he has said or done the correct thing when several FReepers have panicked...
Exactly. The Uniparty and their useful idiots are busy Alinsky-ing POTUS. Notice none of those tantruming are talking about the fact the GOP has refused to fund a wall for 30 YEARS and have little interest in supporting POTUS on this issue. They play right into the Uniparty’s hands when they isolate POTUS and reduce support their support for him.
Hannity is right. Trump is setting the stage for an EO.
The GOP is pathetic and a mickey mouse organization to boot!
I am not. Probably where I live in a rather affluent area I find places better. Been there twice to make sure my decision was correct.
Correct me if I am wrong but I believe club Gitmo is still open isn’t it?
If he orders the Armed Forces to build a wall I think the courts will fight him both and nail.
If he orders the Armed Forces to fortify the southern border, which would include military installations AND a tangle of concertina wire, I don't think a court would touch it. And, in due time the concertina wire is replaced by a permanent barrier after the courts have refused to touch it...
You are correct. Notorious RBG is the Trump card.
I pledge allegiance to the flag
Of the United States of America (so far, so good)
And to the Republic (sorry, mob democracy moving fast to communism)
For which it stands (except in the NFL)
One nation (well, not quite, not even one language any more)
Under God (Bwahaha...New York kills children for fun and profit)
Indivisible (Bwahahahaha)
With liberty (stop, you are killing me)
And justice for all (except Roger Stone, Hillary Clinton, John Podesta, Seth Rich, Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos....infinity)
Consider this:
In your analogy the quarterback is the coach and the quarterback is listening to his "experts" high in the stadium. Let's assume those experts are well-versed in the game and have all current relevant information. The quarterback calls the play and the huddle breaks.
At that point, given the finite number of players on a team, you either support the call or you act to defeat it; and the latter includes criticizing the call and/or walking off the field. And whatever you do may influence the spectators.
By the time they get around to this we will have another 10 mil here. That's a loser. What the (R)s are missing are true conservatives. Until RINOS are primaried out this will remain in (D) control.
Their strength comes from unity. Bill Clinton survived impeachment because of the solid wall of protection they built around him.
Richard Nixon was removed from office because our side crumbled like a cookie.
God bless you and all who support the only man standing between us and total globalization.
He did cave. No one goes to jail for the treason, the stealing of billions and now no wall while Pelosi flies around crowing and drinking.
I am sure Trump has A preeeetty good idea about the countdown to the RGB funeral. It is imminent imho.
Sorry to say. I think you are on to something more true than not. People talk it but nobody wants to be the one to pull the trigger on it.
We are at a point as a nation that would be like Eisenhower having to decide to withdraw the troops on D-day and send the letter he had already written. Omaha was horrible but the others were going well enough to make him hold. What invasion beaches of ours are doing well? The Supreme Court maybe, regulation victories are temporal as is taxation.
The place we are in now is not like the Civil War that was a matter of state’s rights to choose to be slave states or free states. We are now at a place that questions the principals of our existence as a nation. The South did not necessarily disagree with the Constitution and there would have been no Civil War had the North simply allowed state’s rights. In the current case we have to agree to ignore our sovereignty and even our fundamental rights to freedoms if we capitulate to the left.
Yeah I think what happened is they told B.Hussein where they should put the Jihadis if they closed it and he didn’t know so they left it open, but he eventually released 200
Please encourage President Trump to declare a national emergency and build the wall.
