NOGALES, Ariz. -- Ranchers on the border like Jim Chilton own thousands of acres of land and they are increasingly concerned about the situation right in their backyard.
Their stories are being heard in Washington as a GOP House delegation made a visit to the Arizona-Mexico border this week. The officials met with Border Patrol agents and visited ranchers like Chilton, and his wife, Sue.
Jim and Sue Chilton have had deer cameras at their border ranch for five years. Sue Chilton said in the past five years, she has not seen women and children crossing the border its been mostly men.
Our route through us is a drug and human smuggling route...as the cartel is squeezed at the points of entry, they will send more and more of their traffic between the points of entry because that is currently the weak link no apprehension, no surveillance, Sue said.
Some who live along the border say this is why a wall is needed they see first-hand the issue paralyzing Washington right now.
What's the cost of not securing the border? Billions. Think of the drugs coming into this country, the poison, Chilton said.
Republican members of Congress toured the border this week and met with Border Patrol agents. They were shown parts of the border that had barbed wire or just a rope holding fences together. Suddenly, the wall ends and it's just vast, open land.
Border agent Art Del Cueto said 40 percent of the illegal drugs smuggled into the U.S. came through this part of the border.

Ill say the drugs are more like 50%+, then there are the OTMs...
(For those that dont know OTM=other than mexican, aka TERRORSCUM!!!)
Don’t you know that these ranchers are immoral and racist? They should be reeducated in the belief that what they are witnessing are immigrants returning to their stolen land and have welcome signs posted with directions to rest areas stocked with relief supplies. How dare you believe your lying eyes!
If you are building a wall to keep the drugs out don’t make it with slats. Drugs will simply be pushed through the openings to someone waiting for them on the other side of the wall.
It’s called an invasion of America-hating foreign nationals colluding with the DNC for the destruction of America. Wake up Snowflake!!! Knock off the ‘selfies’ for a while, put away the iPhone and pay attention.
I thought the slats were requested by border patrol so they could see what was on the other side
These “migrants” are invaders and shoukd be shot. Those enabling them in the political ranks should be hanged. Oh to dream.
Yeah, steel slats don’t sound like a good idea. Supposedly, border patrol likes the idea because they can see through to the other side, but then things can be passed between the slats.
Things can be passed over an unaffordable wall resembling Medieval design and construction, too.
One could build a 30 foot concrete wall and put monitors on top to see what is on the other side. The claim is ridiculous.
ping
but then things can be passed between the slats.

Things can be thrown over a concrete wall.
Look at these videos and you will realize how much illegal immigration is costing us. It is 4.2 billion a year in tax refunds. They claim children, nieces, nephews and get paid for them from the US government. The kids don’t even live here. One family claims 20 kids and four families live in one small house trailer. Actually only one family with 1 child lives there. Even the illegals talking to the news reporter tells them they do it. IRS does nothing.
How much do you get?

Wire mesh?
Walls just buy time and channel opponents. They are not cure-alls, but are very useful.
If we prevented all drugs from coming across the Southern border, we would not a make a dent in the drug problem in the United States.
Demand is inelastic. Supply is elastic.
Yep. No wonder everyone wants to come here.
Maybe that would help.
ELECTRIFIED wire mesh.
Barbed or razor wire in the slots.
From the reports of mass media, you’d think all the ranchers were against the wall. That’s all you ever hear about.
