Print this article House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Saturday she will not take up President Trump’s offer to trade off $5.7 billion in wall funding for a three-year extension of a program providing legal status for "Dreamers," who illegally went to the U.S. as children.
Pelosi, D-Calif., issued a statement just before Trump’s announcement, calling the plan “a compilation of several previously rejected initiatives, each of which is unacceptable and in total, do not represent a good faith effort to restore certainty to people’s lives.”
Pelosi said the proposal does not achieve what Democrats have long sought for the "Dreamers," which is a pathway to citizenship or permanent legal status.
“It is unlikely that any one of these provisions alone would pass the House, and taken together, they are a non-starter.“
Pelosi rejected the wall and repeated Democratic offers to increase other border security at ports of entry and to boost technology along the border. Some overlapped with the president’s offer, such as money for additional immigration judges and bolstering security at the nation’s ports of entry, where most illegal drugs enter.

Shove it, Pelosi. Americans who live on or near the border want ‘certainty’ that they are safe in their lives, too.
Who is advising Trump? He is Commander in Chief. There is a security threat along the southern border. Simply order the Army Corp of Engineers to build the wall he wants. Rearrange funds in the Pentagon to finance it. Or save money by withdrawing troops from the myriad of foreign entanglements.
Time to start deporting Piglosi’s Wet Dreamers.
He played her like a fiddle.

Trump’s last two important speeches have been short, calm, firm and straightforward. Good optics.
Like a good attorney, he knew the answer to today’s question before he asked it. He was already on to the next step, just had to lay this marker down first.

It was stupid for Nancy Pelosi to turn down the President's offer. She'll come to regret this. To the average Joe, it looks like President Trump is the only one compromising and offering concessions.
Knowing they were voting for Miss “you gotta pass it before you read it” Pelosi...then we know why out Constitution was so abused under Obama...and the thinking world understands how totally vapid the Progressives/Socialists are in America...vapid and dangerous to our liberty and freedoms.
So is it two offers and a declaration of emergency or three offers THEN a declaration of emergency?

I was in the teachers union, they are in "solidarity with their union brothers" (a phrase I first heard in "'license to teach" school).
