Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and a select group of congressional Democrats were boarded on a military charter bus bound for Andrews Air Force Base to catch a military charter jet to Europe were forced to turn around Thursday when President Donald Trump officially postponed the trip.
Trump sent a letter to Pelosi informing her that she would not be allowed to use military aircraft to travel due to the government shutdown and instead suggested Pelosi fly commercial. It reads:
Due to the shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event is totally appropriate.
According to Capitol Hill reporters, the Democrats had already departed in the military charter bus for the previously unannounced trip and were forced to turn around. Reporters on the Hill noted that members were “furious” over the trip derailment.
Democratic Rep Adam Schiff was on the bus that was forced to turn around and told reporters after returning to the Capitol, “I don’t have any comment” when asked for comment on the incident.
Republican Congressman Sean Duffy tweeted, “Democrats: Get off the bus and help us secure the border!”

I am not real big on schadenfreude, but this is beyond classic into the stratosphere. One can only ask what’s next, and bring it on.

I smell something else. It was a 7 day trip. During the “shutdown”. We’re supposed to believe that a 78 YO Speaker, who’s got some major health issue/s, was going to make a schedule like that? I’m wondering who was going to which countries for how long, and why? I’m thinking the Brussels stop was the important one, and the other two were window dressing.

Riiiight. She’s saying that NOW. Pulled it out of her ass at the very last minute to try to rationalize going on yet another vacation — an “excursion”, as PDJT called it. She had no intention of thanking the troops, at least not American troops.
Even Sean Hannity calls it the “DemocratIC Party”. Most people do now, even though they’re wrong.
Oh, boy. In the middle of the "shutdown" the uniparty is so dead set on ending.
So who has enough juice to demand face time with someone on that bus?
And why did that face time have to be gotten out of the country...?
Great post. Even a liberal blogger yesterday admitted that hardly any U.S. troops in Afghanistan were looking forward to a visit from Nancy Pelosi. LOL.
Yes; she did say that. I believe she also said that she was “concerned” about that. Looks like her instincts were correct, even with sh!t for brains.

This reminded me of the scene in the movie 2012 where all the elite rich wealthy class have bought exclusive tickets to get on the Ark Ships just before the floods.

I’ve been thinking that too, that in Brussels they were planning to tell the Europeans that they’re now in charge and to simply IGNORE anything Trump says or does.
By including Afghanistan (and maybe Egypt), the trip had to be classified as Top Secret, allowing them to slip out of the country before anyone here knew what hit them.
There’s more to this, for sure.
If the EU thought it could ignore Trump, they would never have instigated/participated in Spygate.
If there was to be collusion in Brussels, and ain’t that ironic, then it was aimed at getting rid of our duly elected POTUS, not ignoring him.

Hmmmm ... interesting take on it. The whole trip seemed to be quite hush-hush until Trump rained on her parade by telling her to fly commercial. That does seem suspicious.
