I smell something else. It was a 7 day trip. During the “shutdown”. We’re supposed to believe that a 78 YO Speaker, who’s got some major health issue/s, was going to make a schedule like that? I’m wondering who was going to which countries for how long, and why? I’m thinking the Brussels stop was the important one, and the other two were window dressing.
Oh, boy. In the middle of the "shutdown" the uniparty is so dead set on ending.
So who has enough juice to demand face time with someone on that bus?
And why did that face time have to be gotten out of the country...?

I’ve been thinking that too, that in Brussels they were planning to tell the Europeans that they’re now in charge and to simply IGNORE anything Trump says or does.
By including Afghanistan (and maybe Egypt), the trip had to be classified as Top Secret, allowing them to slip out of the country before anyone here knew what hit them.
There’s more to this, for sure.

I agree. It was to plot stuff with the European leaders. The Afghanistan (and maybe Egypt) part was intended to make the departure top secret, so Trump wouldn’t know and call them out. Oh well.
I think they were going to meet with EU people. Furthermore, it was more likely than not to coordinate ways to subvert the United States.
