Watergate by Any Other Name

Familiarity, it is said, breeds contempt. It also breeds indifference. For almost three years now, the intelligence services and police apparatus of the deep state have worked tirelessly to undermine Donald Trump. Beginning sometime in the late winter of 2016, when Trump’s presidential campaign was showing unexpected signs of strength, John Brennan—the Communist-voting apparatchik turned media mouthpiece whom it pleased Barack Obama to appoint as director of the CIA—began ringing alarm bells about Trump’s possible relations with the Kremlin. His concern was based on two things. One was a report, spurious as it turned out, about “contacts between Russian officials and U.S. persons that raised concerns in my mind about whether or not those individuals were cooperating with the Russians.” The other was that brittle sense of entitlement, fired by paranoia, that membership in the higher echelons of the deep state’s nomenklatura breeds.

Brennan convened a “working group” at CIA headquarters that included Peter Strzok, the disgraced FBI agent who was head of counter-intelligence, and James Clapper, then director of national intelligence (now, like Brennan, another mouthpiece for the left-wing media), in order to stymie Trump’s campaign. It was Brennan, too, who first alerted James Comey, the disgraced former director of the F.B.I., to the fantasy of possible “collusion” between the Trump Campaign and “the Russians.”

Then came the infamous “Steele Dossier,” the agglomeration of malicious gossip about Trump that was surreptitiously commissioned by and paid for by the Clinton campaign and the DNC. This fantastical piece of “opposition research” was essentially the sole warrant for opening secret FISA investigations against Carter Page, a low-level Trump campaign advisor, and others.

They’ve come with knives for every Republican president since 1960.

The peaceful transfer of power ended long over half a century ago.

When all is said and done, Watergate will go into the history books as a very minor crime, notable chiefly as a successful coup against the president.

The major crimes committed in the coup against Trump will be the subject of study and awe for years.

. . . always assuming that conservatives write that history.
The major crimes committed in the coup against Trump will be the subject of study and awe for years.
Absolutely impossible if not for the fact that journalism and the Democrat Party are joined at the hip.

Infiltrate and gin up a coup to overthrow the duly elected president of your enemies country in order to install a puppet regime.

Sounds like a KGB operation to me.

Russian operatives all...

It all makes sense now, doesn't it.

The substance and lessons of history post-Trump will be written and enforced by those who loathe him and his supporters.

In short order---ten or twelve years---there will be, no study, no debate, no truth...only dogma and darkness.

At this point, it certainly appears so!

I’m concerned angered and amazed by the lack of legal action regarding this attempt at a coup.

I had hope that a massive ongoing investigation was under way but that appears to be wishful and naive thinking.

Carl Bernstein and his sidekick who I can’t remember now have Watergate on steroids right under their noses while demonizing Trump. What a couple of turds.

Complete with the FBI creating a fake source to undermine the president. Mark Felt FBI was the POS deep throat.

They (FBI/CIA) murdered JFK, removed Nixon, covered up for Clinton and Chinese cash, covered for Obama and islamic cash, fast and furious, Benghazi and dozens of other crimes. Then they tried to throw an election, and failing that, they tried to launch a coup.

Ergo, we are living in an intel community police state.

Watergate pales. There was no one involved in the burglary who was any higher than council to the president. This rogue’s gallery includes two cabinet heads and three department heads, all of whom conspired to cover up serial crimes committed by a third cabinet head, the Secretary of State.

at this point it is treason that has happened and as far as I am concerned who ever is the organizer needs to be executed and long prison sentences for the rest.

In the book “Silent Coup”, the writers show (with LOTS of documnentation) how the military (like Haig) were doing all they could to derail Nixon. Woodward used to work for the navy and would intercept messages between Nixon and Kissinger and give to his superiors.

When the third-rate break-in happened - that was their chance to try to get Nixon on something.

Is that the book that identified Mo as a hooker?

One of them - yes. Fingered John Dean as the main man that ran the deal to cover up for Mo (he married Mo). Dean turned on Nixon and blamed him.
