As you know, Nancy Pelosi and about 40 House Democrats and/or Lobbyists are in Puerto Rico enjoying the lovely weather and Hamilton, which the average Puerto Rican cannot afford to attend. Below (in the comments section), I’ve translated some of the comments from the Puerto Rican people made in El Nuevo Día Facebook page. The large majority upset that such spectacle is being presented on the island.

LUTY: “Who is Hamilton? I know the story of Christopher Columbus! Long Live Spain!”
NELSON: “Does anyone know if crime has lowered because this play is being shown in Puerto Rico?”
DIOSELINA: “Disrespectful to the $10 bill and disrespectful to Alexander Hamilton!”
JOSE: “Liberals taking away millions from this island but all they do is “Dance, Beer & Playing Cards” (Baile, Botella, Barajas).
GLADYS: “Ignorants - all of them! They don’t do a musical about one of our people and making more money off of us!”
JUAN: “The government should return the million dollars that they spent to have the Univ. of PR theater students design and make the stage and props!”
OSVALDO: “Neither Lin Manuel nor Hamilton represent Puerto Rican culture!”

I've screenshot every page of the El Nuevo Dia newpaper Facebook comments page, just in case it disappears within the next day or two. This is precisely the reason that the mainstream media was criticizing Trump last week for allegedly reducing the federal funds to help the island after Hurricane Maria (unsubstantiated): Because the Clown Car of Democrats, including Jimmy Fallon doing his show from Puerto Rico this week, were going to descend on the island bashing POTUS!

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t “Hamilton” a play about mostly white historical characters that is cast exclusively for black performers? Isn’t that kind of like blackface in reverse?

It would be amusing if the Puerto Ricans demanded that Hamilton have an all-Hispanic cast in order to play in Puerto Rico.

Lol! No doubt. I think the pc crowd expected Puerto Ricans to love it, but actually, this stuff doesn’t resonate with them. For one thing most of them are not black, and many of them actually are of mixed Spanish, German and French ancestry. With of course a few Irish thrown in, as usual in any Spanish outpost. So the racist appeal was lost on them.
White racist liberals are trying to ram “Hamilton” down their throats—good to see Puerto Ricans aren’t falling for it.
#1 reason I disliked it.... it was all rap music and I can’t stand angry rap music.
#2 reason was that it was not historically accurate.
