18 month old Richie needs your prayers

Prayer Warriors have seen this but we need everyone to offer prayers for Richie.

Picture a few months old but the only one I have available.

First a little history .... The last week of November, Richie received several vaccines which included the flu vaccine.

On December 2nd, he was hospitalized with paralysis of his arms and legs. He was put on a respirator and the outlook was bleak. I posted a note on FB asking for prayers from family and friends.

Richie is the grandson of a cousin who is more like a little brother than a cousin.

Being at home again is a welcome boost for anyone who has been in the hospital.

Just Amy, it sounds as though Ritchie might be leaving the hospital soon?
Praying for Brian and that he has the best of instructors.
He carries a heavy load.

Ritchie is still hospitalized. HE will not be released until the medical team are sure that Brian will be able to care for him.

Grandpa told me he would probably be there another month but the family feels that he will do better in a familiar environment.

We continue to pray for his complete healing. Father, hear our prayers.

Once home again, we pray that he thrives in the love surrounding him day by day. We’ve FAITH that our GOD has touched him with healing Hands.

Richie is still in ICU but they are planning on moving him to the rehab floor soon. There is lots of work ahead for Mommy and Daddy.

Richie will be in the hospital another month or so. Brian will be a stay at home Daddy, as he will be the main caregiver. They are learning to suction his lungs in a sterile environment and replace new trach dressings.

Also, Richie will be on a ventilator at home. Since he is still not eating enough, he will probably go home with a PEG tube.

Shannon and Brian will learn to trouble shoot the ventilator, suction, CPR and lots of general care procedures.

Depending on how well he does on the ventilator, they may try teaching him to talk later.

Grandpa and Grandma are going to Madera to see him again on Wednesday. I know this will be good for Grandpa and Grandma. Hope it also encourages Brian.

I'm praying that Richie will regain use of his arms and is able to learn to communicate.

Father, please touch Richie with Your healing touch and stengthen Brian. We put our hopes and prayers on You, Lord. Help Brian keep Hope and Faith alive. In Jesus' Name, we pray. Amen.
