President Donald Trump fired back at Mitt Romney after the Republican senator-elect penned an op-ed saying Trump "has not risen to the mantle of the office."

"Here we go with Mitt Romney, but so fast! Question will be, is he a Flake? I hope not," Trump tweeted, referring to retiring Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake, a Republican who has criticized the President often in the last few years. "Would much prefer that Mitt focus on Border Security and so many other things where he can be helpful. I won big, and he didn't. He should be happy for all Republicans. Be a TEAM player & WIN!"

Romney, who is set to take office Thursday, criticized the President's character in a Washington Post op-ed Tuesday, saying that Trump's "conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the President has not risen to the mantle of the office."

I'd like to hear more about that. I follow Chris Salcedo on his Dallas radio show in the morning at work and it intrigues me to hear what's happening to Texas.

I went to college there and thinking of Austin, Dallas and much of the southern state going so strongly blue is troublesome. Mysteries like Joe Straus are hard to understand from up here in Idaho.

Romney’s editorial was his first step toward his campaign for President in 2020.

Does he really want to be president? If so, why did he run such a feckless and incompetent campaign in 2012? Why didn't he even mention Benghazi, his ace of spades, in the televised debate on foreign policy issues?

No.

He’s a creature of the Uni-Party. His task is to ensure that their chosen ones abide in the highest levels of the government.

The Mittwit strikes again! It’s amusing that the guy who single-handedly lost the election in 2012 is trying to give advice to the guy who won in 2016. Why on earth would anyone listen to Mittens?

Don’t know if they did or not. The ones I know usually don’t even vote, or just vote straight GOP. So there’s the answer. I haven’t lived in Utah for years, and I have been Catholic since I converted at age 13. I just know bad mormons when I see them behave in exact opposition to the rules of their religious faith. Good Mormons try to live by their faith. Bad mormons use it to cover up their mischief.
