Days before he officially becomes a U.S. senator, Mitt Romney took to the Washington Post to fire a shot across President Trump’s bow, saying Mr. Trump had made a “deep descent” in December and is hurting the national character.
In an op-ed column published online Tuesday evening, Mr. Romney, now a Republican senator-elect for Utah, came down hardest on recent moves in foreign policy and Cabinet positions related to that.
“After he became the nominee, I hoped his campaign would refrain from resentment and name-calling. It did not. When he won the election, I hoped he would rise to the occasion. His early appointments of Rex Tillerson, Jeff Sessions, Nikki Haley, Gary Cohn, H.R. McMaster, Kelly and Mattis were encouraging. But, on balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office,” he wrote.

If Mitt plans to run in 2020, he is not interested in winning. He just wants to make sure Trump loses.
Maybe he just wants to be the next Paul Ryan and make things more difficult for PDJT to drain the swamp. I really despise Romney.

His daddy was the President of a car company for 8 years, Governor of Michigan, the equivalent of a Governor in the LDS Church (Regional Rep), Secretary of HUD and a (failed) Presidential candidate. So Mitt did not start out with as little of nothing as most people.

Exactly. We should expect the dem's 24/7 MSM coverage of Romney = and/or its favorite leading Rino - will be most favorable from now until the R primaries. Needless to say, at the same time its coverage of Trump will amount to nothing but non-stop hit pieces.
All three threats, the dems, its MSM and the Rinos, if unanswered by Trump, will indeed bleed off some of the undecided and many of the unthinking R voters.

We got rid of Flake, McCain, Corker and Heller, and added back Mittens. Still have Sasse for 2 more years, but he’ll be gone after that. On balance, we are much better off, but Mitt is clearly going to be a pain in the ass for 6 years. I really can’t stand that guy.
That’s because MA wouldn’t elect him.

He's going to put together the 20 GOP Senate votes to remove the President, and get himself appointed as Pence's VP.
Let him. The only state he’ll carry is Utah.

Mark Warner and other Dems go right to Utah for the money to embarrass and investigate ($$ for claims) against Trump.
