Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is prepared to spent upwards of $100 million should he mount a 2020 bid for the White House, according to CNBC.
Howard Wolfson, the billionaire business magnate's top political advisor, told the news outlet that Bloomberg spent more than $100 million in his last campaign for New York City mayor in 2009.
"Last time I looked, NYC is a fraction of the size of the country as a whole," Wolfson said in an email to the outlet.
ADVERTISEMENT Wolfson added that Bloomberg would spend "whatever is required" on his own campaign if he decides to make a run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020.
A spokesperson for Bloomberg did not immediately respond to The Hill's request for comment.
If Bloomberg does throw his name into the running, he would begin his campaign with a significant cash advantage over other potential Democratic frontrunners, like former Vice President Joe Biden or Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

Mike has a big surprise headed his way.
He’s such an arrogant POS. The only good thing that could come of it is his arrogant, plutocrat attitude being exposed on the stage that is a presidential campaign.
He’s about a billion short.
I’ll make a wager that his $100 million would buy more votes than Jeb Bush’s $100 million bought. Shoot, he might even crack 10% somewhere.
I wonder if hes gonna run as a third party person to split the trump vote
Jeb Bush spent $150M. Bloomberg is not smart enough to understand that money isn’t everything in politics.
I don’t think he would ever get the nomination, but I’d love to see the optics of Trump towering over Li’l Mikey at a debate.
Make 32oz sodas 16oz again!!
We’ve already had a billionaire New Yorker. Sorry bloomy, you had to be first. Just like Obama already grabbing the brass ring to be the first gay Marxist moslem black dude.
You got to be first sport.
Nobody remembers who flew the Atlantic solo after Lindbergh.
2DV is gonna raise $1M for Trump.
“Bloomberg is not smart enough to understand that money isnt everything in politics.”
But I will bet you that he thinks that it is. He’s gone through life buying his way to where he wanted to be. He definitely isn’t a Republican, but he bought himself the Mayor’s Mansion in NYC as a “Republican.” No reason for him to think he can’t buy the Presidency as a “democrat.” In truth, he’s just another George Soros with more money than he should be allowed to have.

They’re looking for a Perot right now.
Might as well throw those $ down the sewer Mike.
Mike, look at the primary calendar; you’re not winning California nor Texas on Super Tuesday (and actually, you gotta win it a month before hand when early voting / vote by mail goes out.) You’d have to spend at least $5 mil a month in California for 6 months to make a dent, that’s $30 million of your warchest before the first ballot is cast. Add in $15 million for Texas and $15 million for the first primaries, and you’re 60 million into your fund.
I know, math is tough. Mind you, that doesn’t win anywhere, that’s just to make you competitive.
Bloomberg is Jeb with a whiney voice. ZERO charisma. Can you just imagine his holding a rally?
