The Trump administration is officially banning bump-fire stocks, senior Justice Department officials told CNN Tuesday.
Under a new federal rule, those who possess the devices, commonly known as bump stocks, will get 90 days to turn them in from the date that the final rule is published in the federal register, which is likely Friday, the officials said.
Bump stocks gained national attention last year after a gunman in Las Vegas rigged his weapons with the devices to fire on concertgoers, killing 58 people. President Donald Trump vowed to outlaw the devices soon after the tragedy, and some lawmakers on Capitol Hill urged him to back a permanent legislative fix.
But opposition from lawmakers and the National Rifle Association ultimately made a regulatory change the only realistic path forward to accomplishing the President's goal.

Bingo. Finally someone hits the nail squarely on the head. The bump stock is only the beginning of what's coming or has actually already started happening all around the country in many local liberal run jurisdictions.
Laws taking little bites here and there and leading up to the big one, then the actual gun grabbing in earnest. This just get folks slowly indoctrinated to the coming gun confiscations and far too many complacent Americans just ignorantly embrace the concept of gun confiscation through incrementalism.
Until it appears in the Federal Register, THERE IS NO BAN. Some memo to the SAC pukes does NOT make it so.
Hell they're the ones who set this in motion last year. Did you forget that? The sell out NRA is the root cause for this very action. That's a big reason why I dropped out of their membership.

What I’m saying isn’t taboo though - He’s not done anything for our gun rights except for a SCOTUS that is so far not proving itself to be particularly great. I mean will SCOTUS declare this move illegal ? I doubt it.
He has said things that made Diane Feinstein GIGGLY. This is treasonous in my book. She needs to damage a lightpole, not be invited to a meeting with our leader.
Add Donald J Trump to the list of Politicians Who Don't Understand "shall not be infringed".

I think the issue with the Supreme Court is that everyone worries about what an aging justice thinks about abortion when it is an issue that rarely personally affects them and we completely ignore whether they do or have owned guns, what they think about the 2nd amendment. Other than Scalia, do any of our justices own guns? Have they ever owned a gun? If they did once, now don’t, why?
Some appeasers are making the argument that a ban on bump stocks is no big deal because on can use a fast finger, rubber bands, a string or a belt loop.
Next, these same people will argue that a ban on 30 round magazines is no big deal because a person can quickly change out 10 round magazines.

So says another ignorant poster on FR. Where's your evidence to back up such a claim? I can offer one to go to the many various websites of which there are many that deal in these type of devices of which 'bump stocks' is only one of the different style devices made and sold for this very purpose and see their posted numbers being made and sold. Each major company reports them being sold to be in the thousands and even hundreds of thousands with many routinely on back order for weeks at a time. Seems that at least someone must be buying them. Maybe it's the Russians?
