“Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest, with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer. If it ever reach us it must spring up amongst us; it cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen we must live through all time or die by suicide.” ~Abraham Lincoln’s Lyceum address, 1838
How will they know you own these magazines ?
Now we find out if Americans are willing to fight for their birthright.
I do not think I am going to like the answer.
The NRA has appealed, right?
Liberal journalists are pretty much exempt.
Had it typical joe citizen, under a prison in a new york minute.
Nobody in NJ is turning in mags. They are laughing and mocking the governor on the internet forums. 89 cops in one of the police depts said they aren’t giving up their mags so arrest them and figure out who’s going to patrol while they are in jail. It’s an uenforceable law just like the Connecticut assault rifle registration law.
I had heard they’re ignoring it in CT and now NJ is doing the same. lol
... the law serves a legitimate GOVERNMENT safety purpose
...........
obviously, almost nobody will even consider complying with such a “law” (sic), not for even one second
its all bullsheit for the commie/Nazi style leftist political hacks to prattle about...
NJ grabs guns. CA throws you in jail for the “wrong” pronouns. Still think it’s the “Land of the free”?
1.) Pretty much everything made during Clinton's 1994-2004 AWB.
2.) "Blue State Specials" sold after 2004.
3.) The 1911 and the Sig p220 (today), to name a couple. I'm not trying to nitpick but the 1911 has been very popular for more than 100 years, and it begins to look gangster-silly with even a 10 round mag.
The problem I have with magazine capacity limits is that passing them is virtue signaling and allows the virtue signaler to feel good without identifying what the real problem is. (And that's not magazine capacity.)
A veteran in DC was stopped for a traffic incident and when the trunk of he car was searched the cops found a shotgun shell rolling around in there and he was arrested for having unregistered ammunition - didn’t have a shotgun with him.
NRA was not involved. The New Jersey state level organization was behind this suit.
My understanding is that there is vacancy on the third circuit that a conservative appointment would flip the balance of the court. The rumor mill is that they’re waiting for Trump to seat a replacement on the 3rd circuit and do an en banc appeal to the full 3rd circuit, hoping it will be overturned. If that fails, then SCOTUS is the last stop.
I do not trust Roberts, however. He could do permanent damage if he signals favorably to striking down the ban and then pulling an ACA move.
We need to replace another liberal on SCOTUS. The left knows this too, if RBG kicks off I truly believe the insane left will attempt violence upon republican senators.
So, no one is challenging this and taking it to the SCOTUS ?
Anyone in New Jersey who had any intention of complying with this stupid law doesn’t own a gun anyway.
When they come for your guns, give them the ammo 1st.
NJ requires registration of handguns. The po-po know you have a Glock 17, they show up & demand you produce all the magazines for that weapon (10 rd mags are available).
