The only thing more disturbing than this policy are the comments on the SF Gate article/website. Then again, these are the same people who vote for their own city to turn into a $hithole.
Yup, followed by an exit tax, ala Chicago.
And shopping.
And taking the kids to school.
And leaving the house in general.
Democrat is the Islamic sh&thole party.
Banning single family zoning creates disease and violence.
All you single mothers on welfare, the Democrat Party has brought in your replacements. The party is over.
Share your home with the women beaters and daughter rapers.
Progressives in SoCal have been inflicting the same thing on Orange County. They do it quietly, rezoning established neighborhoods to high density.
The resulting overcrowding makes SoCal cities increasingly undesirable places to live, except to the waves of 3rd world imports that our open borders rulers prefer to American natives.

Of course it is. But it’s a liberal policy in a liberal city pimped by a liberal rag from another liberal city.
So it all makes sense. To liberals.
Zoning is what created this “housing crisis” in the first place, get rid of zoning, gets rid of the need for “affordable housing” because the free market will create the all the housing that is demanded.

I live one small suburb away from that schitthole Minneapolis.
I live among other nice single family homes with large lots.
If I wanted to live next door to a 50 unit apartment complex I would have moved downtown.
The suburb between me and schittyapolis is rapidly knocking down commercial buildings, single family homes and building huge apartment complexes. The snowflakes and hippies get closer every year. Now they are extending the Somali Trolley ( light rail) to within a half mile of my place so the criminals can get out here much easier.
Try telling that to people who live in once-pleasant single family home neighborhoods where high density housing is replacing it. I don’t think that they will find your argument persuasive.
I have see many smart hard-working blacks who bought lovely homes in fine neighborhoods.
It is called economic flight. Who wants to live next to a multi group (not family) occupied drug infested gangster rap blaring crap hole when they have the means and smarts to move to a main stream family values neighborhood with access to decent schools.
You are forgetting a cardinal rule of socialism, being that rules created by the elite do not apply to the elite.
Ditto. There’s a minority couple living next door to me and I’m jealous of how well kept their home and yard is. Honest, I’m trying to keep mine up better but... They also have several teenage kids to help with the chores. Hmm, maybe I can hire/lure them away to work on my yard! ;-)
Nope. Someone is connected to local real estate developers who want to put multiple residence housing in. There are going to be lots of $$$$$$ to be made.

My son bought a nice house in a decent area from a black man.
He was a great guy. Hard working, moving up the chain at work. He moved his wife and daughters to a really nice house in an area with great schools.
My wife rides the bus on the first leg of her journey home from work with a black woman. This woman told her one day...I gotta move, my neighborhood is being over run by somalians.
That is a story you hear often in the metro area.
Maybe if cities did not give $500 a day fines for the trash an errant dog ripped people would afford housing.

Bizarre. I now live in Jacksonville, Florida - which has a large black middle class and even wealthy population, and a lot of “mixed marriages” as a result, because people marry people who have the same values and goals. And one of those is owning a house.
But the left has a terrible view of black Americans, ranging from condescending to vicious.
What could go wrong?
