A married mother of two and meteorologist for Fox 2 Detroit died by suicide, the station said Thursday.
Jessica Starr, 35, who lived in Novi, Michigan, is survived by her husband, Dan, and her two children, a 5-year-old son named Noah, and a 3-year-old daughter named Riley, the Springfield News-Sun reported. The station did not provide more details about her death.

Prior to her death, Starr spoke out publicly about her recovery from Lasik surgery, which she had done in October. She was out of work for several weeks and struggled with dry eye following the procedure, reported the Detroit Free Press.
Starr posted a video on her Facebook page on Nov. 13 explaining her absence. She announced that she was back at work but still in the recovery process and dealing with blurry vision.

Another idiot. Crawl back in your hole please
I wore glasses from the age of 4, and never would consider any surgery. At about 50, I developed cataracts, and ended up having both lenses replaced. Both eyes are fine now, but I would never have had any surgery if it had not been a choice of surgery or blindness.
My wife has had cataract surgery and corneal transplants in both eyes, but we’re definitely apprehensive about her macular degeneration since there’s no corrective surgery for that. If she goes blind, I’ll take care of her, that’s all. (But I threaten to rearrange the furniture.)
It seems Yelp’s big with the youngins I know.
In the past we talked to our neighbors, church members, club members, volunteer groups friends. Now we just stare at our computers.
I just had laser cataract surgery in both eyes, one December 4th, the second the 11th. I am happy to report that my distance, intermediate and near vision is almost perfect in both eyes.
I wish I had some magic words for you but at the very least would like to tell you that I’m sorry for your loss. That has to be a lot of pain.
I hate being cliche but I would say to just try to get through one day at a time and eventually if you are interested you’ll find someone special.
It took 50 posts but the hypocrisy of people like you who flaunt your so called christian beliefs and Conservatism ad nauseam finally comes out.......
Yes— those poor children!
It was a screwed-up thing to do to her kids
Omg, two very young children. I didnt read the story but must be serious depression in the bipolar level. How horrible that no one could somehow stop her.
I remain disappointed in our allowing freedom for the mentally ill. I revere freedom. But if you cant mentally handle it, you are at grave risk to yourselves and others. Im sure she loved those children more than herself and she wasnt able to put them first. At such a deterioration of mental ability, we need to step in and institutionalize against someones will. We need some simple guidelines that should save MOST, and get mentally ill people the help they need. Better she wold have spent the next 6 months in a mental rehab facility and eventually gotten back to her family.
It is a passion of mine. We do them no justice, leaving the mentally ill in freedom on the streets or without strong assistance.
OMG!! How SELFISH!!! She has a husband and TWO LITTLE KIDS??? DRY EYE?? BLURRY VISON?? OMG!
YES!! I would NEVER want to be famous! NEVER!
You have the right priorities, as does your daughter.
The lasting value within can overrule the temporary cover of the book.
THAT was a disgusting comment. Shame on you.
Thanks for sharing your story.
So very sorry for your loss......DEMONS will do that.
Until you have infesting your brain what infested hers, you have zero room to judge. Sorry. That is just truth.
Oh please!! MANY, MANY. MANY people are HAPPY! geesh!
She’s taking AREDS2 vitamins? Hope so.
No surgery but the injections for MD are amazing.
(But I threaten to rearrange the furniture.) LOL!
Bad boy. (But I bet she’s a lucky women.)
And just where were all these “life is precious” people while she still teetered on the edge? Where WERE they?
Oh, they’re there to judge after the loss. They are probably there to judge before, too.
