Huber won’t testify before House panel on Clinton probe

U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber won't testify Thursday before the House Oversight subcommittee as its chairman had announced previously.

Huber had been assigned by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate several controversies Republicans have raised about Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation, many of them stoked by right-wing activists who believe she should be prosecuted.

Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., chairman of the Oversight’s subcommittee on government operations, had hoped Huber would provide an update on his probe.

“Mr. Huber with the Department of Justice and FBI has been having an investigation — at least part of his task was to look at the Clinton Foundation and what may or may not have happened as it relates to improper activity with that charitable foundation, so we’ve set a hearing date for December the 5th,” he told Hill.TV previously.

That hearing was postponed until Thursday because of President George H.W. Bush's funeral service.

Meadows had wanted to quiz Huber on whether any of the Clinton Foundation’s tax-exempt money was used for personal gain as well as a litany of other conservative allegations against Clinton such as her State Department’s approval of a uranium deal with Russia.

The Oversight Committee, as all other House panels, transfers to Democratic control next month because of the results of the midterm elections.

Huber's spokeswoman, Melodie Rydalch, confirmed that Huber wouldn't testify.

“Consistent with conversations between the department and the committee, Mr. Huber will not appear at the hearing,” she said.

The hearing will instead feature Tom Fitton, the head of the right-leaning Judicial Watch, a law professor and two tax professionals.

“As long as he was sitting in Utah, he didn’t even have any jurisdiction to do anything about any swamp crimes he might have accidentally uncovered.

That was the clearest signal of all that he was never supposed to actually do anything. You can’t clean up DC from Utah.”

+1000. The 6th amendment is pretty clear on that.

“In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed; which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defence.”

Turley isn’t very bright, but sure gets lots of press.

And NOTHING prevents Huber from showing up, and explaining in general terms what he’s doing. For instance, “Did you report to Rosenstein on your findings, whether a 2nd Special Counsel could be justified?”

When he says, “Yes.” All hell will break loose. And Rosenstein can’t have that. Sooo...he and his boys stopped him from showing.

Well, Huber ain’t doing any of that either.

You seem very certain of that. Time will tell...

The hysteria taken grip here is plain sad. If John Huber showed up to testify about the Clinton Foundation, it could only mean he’s there to speak to the outcome that there would be no prosecution.

He would not be able to speak if a prosecution is pending.

That so many missed this is frankly, kinda sad.

Sad!

Huber cannot speak publicly about what he is or is not doing.

Huber could speak if he was done with whatever he was doing re: the Clinton Foundation.

It would appear he’s not done in whatever he’s doing there. So, silence is golden.

You are dreaming. Huber hasn’t interviewed key witnesses after 9 months “on the job”. Mueller staffed up, investigated, had indictments and guilty pleas in months.

Huber agreed to speak publicly to Congress on December 5th. It was postponed due to Bush’s funeral and now cancelled.

Of course I’m certain. He can’t indict anyone for crimes in Washington DC as long as he is sitting around in Utah. Wrong venue.

Also consider McCain is permanently removed now, and Flake and Corker will not be in the 2019 Senate.

Stronger 53 now than the 51 was. So if it was only 51 now it would be stronger due to the 3 gone, but on top of those 3 gone, it is 53 now.

Net gain here is plus 5.

Please explain how Gowdy and Issa are in your words hall of shame? The oft tiring “all bark no bite” moniker I’m beginning to believe is utilized by those having hissy fits over trying to remember how our government works. Here’s a reminder

It’s not Gowdy’s job as a Congressman to get results. I’m weary to death when this topic continuously comes up. His job is to investigate, question, pass laws, and oversight. Trump can thank the heavens for Gowdy the “all bark no bite” guy you speak about. It was Gowdy and his Benghazi committee that uncovered Hillary’s secret server which gave Trump an ENORMOUS hammer in which to bash Hillary on all throughout the election. This point was key in getting Trump elected.

Beyond that more than enough evidence was discovered and uncovered during his investigation that a junior prosecutor straight from college would have gotten indictments. He took his case nightly before the cameras to wake up a sleeping, ignorant public in order to apply pressure to the Executive branch to bring charges.

But no, folks around here expected an all Democratic administration including AG to fire up those Grand Juries and take Hillary to task. Get real. But low and behold we now have and have had an AG under this administration that is a republican administration and that evidence that Gowdy uncovered didn’t magically vanish into fairy dust. Now go bark up the right tree....that would be THIS ADMINISTRATION and it’s INEPT DOJ. They seat Grand juries, they indict, they try. That IS NOT Congress’ job

You need to understand the Weekly Standard GOP plantation conservatism is dead. It died when “conservatives” said “vote your conscious” with the threat of a Hillary Criminal and her SCOTUS.

Gowdy and his ilk are indeed all bark and no bite beltway theater performers. Recall when Clinton was impeached. Democrats marched over to the White House and had a party.

Contrast that to a GOP POTUS’s NSC director being entraped by an FBI sting directed by McCabe. What did Gowdy say about that? Told us to let Mueller and his 16 angry Democrats continue treasonously assaulting POTUS and anyone who dare support him. The GOPe tremendously undermined POTUS with malice aforethought.

Without the support of his own party Trump’s power to enact the GOP platform we voted for is severely limited. It’s that simple.

If Hillary and whoever covered up for her are still walking free in Jan 2025, the Deep Staters will use all the powers they are now exhibiting to make sure a Trump never happens again.

Joseph Smith: “Many men say there is one God; the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are only one God. I say that is a strange God. . . . All are crammed into one God according to sectarianism [the Christian faith]. It would make the biggest God in all the world.
