U.S. Attorney for Utah John Huber won't testify Thursday before the House Oversight subcommittee as its chairman had announced previously.
Huber had been assigned by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate several controversies Republicans have raised about Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation, many of them stoked by right-wing activists who believe she should be prosecuted.
Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., chairman of the Oversights subcommittee on government operations, had hoped Huber would provide an update on his probe.
Mr. Huber with the Department of Justice and FBI has been having an investigation at least part of his task was to look at the Clinton Foundation and what may or may not have happened as it relates to improper activity with that charitable foundation, so weve set a hearing date for December the 5th, he told Hill.TV previously.
That hearing was postponed until Thursday because of President George H.W. Bush's funeral service.
Meadows had wanted to quiz Huber on whether any of the Clinton Foundations tax-exempt money was used for personal gain as well as a litany of other conservative allegations against Clinton such as her State Departments approval of a uranium deal with Russia.
The Oversight Committee, as all other House panels, transfers to Democratic control next month because of the results of the midterm elections.
Huber's spokeswoman, Melodie Rydalch, confirmed that Huber wouldn't testify.
Consistent with conversations between the department and the committee, Mr. Huber will not appear at the hearing, she said.
The hearing will instead feature Tom Fitton, the head of the right-leaning Judicial Watch, a law professor and two tax professionals.

Nothing to see here.
Move along.
I did some checking.
There are always tens of thousands of sealed indictments waiting...this is a normal backlog.
It was never an indicator of “something big” coming.
Qanon was meant to placate conservatives until the coup could be firmly in place and given the protection of the socialists.
Hannity rarely delivers on his “tick tock” garbage.
It is the old media trick of “we will conclude this story after this commercial break” as a means of keeping you coming back.
I do not believe there are any sealed indictments against the Deep State. They may prosecute underlings for show, but nobody big is going down.
I also signed up to send Judicial Watch money every month. It’s a small amount but it’s something for a very worthy organization.
Is that the same Bill Mitchell who said the Rs were a lock to keep the House?
“hubers job was just to review the case and see if a special counsel was warranted. He would have know the answer to that 9 months ago.”
Yes, and he likely did give his report to Rosenstein as required. Maybe verbal, but documented. And he likely said, “There is evidence enough to justify the appointment of a new Special Counsel.” Rosenstein has been sitting on it, nobody else in the loop. Sessions ran from it, plugging his ears, saying “blah blah, I can’t hear you! Blah blah...”
They don’t want Huber in front of Congress, under oath, saying he already gave his report to Rosenstein. Hence the cancellations. Clock ran out.
TomFitton is an excellent spokesman for Judicial Watch. His testimony will be worth watching.
"Confused"? -- or playing "dumb@$$"?
December 5 funeral postponed December 5 meeting.
What's "confusing"?
TXnMA
considering that Democrats are taking over the House in January, having the investigation controlled by the Senate would keep the investigation of Hillary alive

Judicial Watch may offer more detail but I’d rather see involvement by ACLJ American Center For Law And Justice.
Yeah... Suckered again... We "Republicans" are such suckers..! :(

Concurring bump...the Huber book report for Jeff Sessions is now in the round file.
Never said did it? I couldn’t find the reason in all the political hoo ha.
_________
Good idea.
I've been with them for a long time.
Huber’s an Obama appointee, so it was glaringly obvious from the start that he was just part of the cover-up operation.
Anyone telling you otherwise is not someone with a very discerning mind.
Yep, he never convened a grand jury and never even bothered to relocate to Washington DC where all the crimes he was supposed to be investigating happened. As long as he was sitting in Utah, he didn’t even have any jurisdiction to do anything about any swamp crimes he might have accidentally uncovered.
That was the clearest signal of all that he was never supposed to actually do anything. You can’t clean up DC from Utah.
“A real prosecutor does his talking through indictments and criminal prosecutions.”
Well, Huber ain’t doing any of that either.
“Criminal prosecutions are public.”
Nah, I’m sure he has already convicted 99% of the swamp creatures in triple secret tribunals and they have just been replaced with lookalike AI robots to walk around and keep the public from suspecting what is going on and causing a panic.
