The Supreme Court on Monday avoided a high-profile case by rejecting appeals from Kansas and Louisiana in their effort to strip Medicaid money from Planned Parenthood, over the dissenting votes of three justices. The court's order reflected a split among its conservative justices and an accusation from Justice Clarence Thomas that his colleagues seemed to be ducking the case for political reasons.
The two states were appealing lower court rulings that had blocked them from withholding money that is used for health services for low-income women. The money is not used for abortions. Abortion opponents have said Planned Parenthood should not receive any government money because of heavily edited videos that claimed to show the nation's largest abortion provider profiting from sales of fetal tissue for medical research.
Investigations sparked by the videos in several states didn't result in criminal charges.
The dispute at the high court has nothing to do with abortion, as Thomas pointed out in a dissent that was joined by Justices Samuel Alito and Neil Gorsuch. In his first discernible vote on the court, new Justice Brett Kavanaugh declined to join Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch because a fourth vote would have been enough to set the case for arguments. Chief Justice John Roberts also did not vote to hear the case, along with the four more liberal justices.
Justices Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Clarence Thomas dissent.
Why are they allow to collect Medicaid money in the first place commit murder all day every day
People that kill children should not be allowed to make laws for the rest of the living. We live in bizzarro world.

My comment from the other thread:
This is basic violation of human rights for the unborn and just-born. It is also a blatant usurpation of power FROM the States and the People by an out-of-control judiciary.
Do we have another Souter here? Recall that the reason he ruled in favor of the unions was for Labor Peace. Where is that in the Constitution?
Kavanaugh is probably scared to death the crazy commies will harm him and his family if he votes to stop the baby murders and body-parts industry. And that is probably true.
If he doesnt have the courage to uphold the Constitution, he should have never accepted the nomination. He should resign. He took the OATH. A man who can not stand by his oath is not a man.

It was a poor case in that Kansas and Louisiana both admitted they were withholding the money for “health services for low-income women.” Get one where they actually admit they’re using the money for abortions and I bet it’ll be a 100% go. Legally you can’t give them an out where they can claim that the money is being used for something else. Yes, we all know PP doesn’t even really do mammograms or anything else but that’s what they’ll claim they do with even to the SCOTUS and, if you look at the history of this case, both states did a poor job of proving otherwise. In short, it’s a bad case and this is a good dodge. It allows the issue to be brought up again with a better case where documented money goes to PP FOR abortions and that money can be tracked.

Hes a coward, xxxx him.

Isn’t he a devout Catholic? I thought they were very pro-life.
POTUS should have nominated Amy Barrett.
Bastard is selling us out already. That didn’t take him long. Probably going to go out of his way to prove all his critics on the left wrong. He’ll show ‘em all that he’s a good Anthony Kennedy-style moderate who’s perfectly safe to invite to confabs at Harvard Law School and soirees in Georgetown. As you say, xxxx him.
“Justice Brett Kavanaugh declined to join Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch because a fourth vote would have been enough to set the case for arguments.” from the article.
Kavanaugh’s first test and the Bush boy fails. It will be interesting to hear all the excuses given for him.
Is there such a thing as a pro-abortion Catholic? I don’t know. I thought they were strongly pro-life. Yes, he should resign but we know he won’t.
Kavanaugh and Roberts. Those Bush boys know the drill.
Globalists stick together.
This story is complete B.S. What the court has said is that states don't have strong grounds to dictate terms for spending money they receive from the Federal government. Here's a better example that isn't fraught with controversy due to the subject of the funding:
Suppose the Federal government requires any highway project built on the National Highway System to be designed and constructed with 12-foot travel lanes. If a state gets Federal money to build a new highway that will be part of the NHS, they can't turn around and complain that they should have the right under the U.S. Constitution to build it with 11-foot lanes. Arguing against these Federal regulations about highway design on "states rights" grounds -- while using the Federal money to build the road -- is ludicrous.
If states don't want Planned Parenthood to get Medicaid funding, they should just stop accepting Medicaid funding, period.
First direct confirmation of the fear, by some on this forum, that another Roberts piece of crap has been sent to the SCOTUS...
Seems like we TWO more appointments to get to a conservative court.
I had thought we only needed one to balance Roberts.

Forget it Jake, it’s Chinatown.
This is about the seventh or eighth posting of this story, and each one is accompanied by anti-Kavanaugh screeching by people that haven’t read the story or understand the decision, past the words “ruling for Planned Parenthood”.
I hate Planned Parenthood. The only way we will stop their federal funding is through Congress.
I stopped going to the “Pro-life Catholic church” when it filled up full of illegals spreading diseases and realized my plate-money was going for child-molestation lawsuits. its just the truth.
It’s a specious argument made against Kansas and Louisiana. Every penny given to PP frees up more money for abortions and direct political activism.
