Three points for discussion:
Carlson points to three promises that Trump has not fulfilled:
* building the wall
* defunding Planned Parenthood and
* repealing ObamaCare.
All of the above are BEYOND TRUMP’s CONTROL IMHO. It is CONGRESS that Tucker needs to fault, not Trump.
That says it about as clear as can be.....
Yes that is true, but I agree with Tucker that Trump has not surrounded himself with the best people.
In fact, some of them are highly suspect.
I’m not sure how much of this is his fault though, because the GOP basically sucks, and there is no one other than him to rely on.
Building the wall should depend on taking action against Mexico. The president promised Mexico would pay.
Like Obama’s promise the keep your doctor, getting Mexico to pay for the wall is unfulfilled and apparently unfulfillable.
Pelosi is gleeful when she reminds us of the unfullfilled promise
"...beyond his control..."
This is true. Most of the blame lies with RINOs like Ryan and McShame and Flake. However, Trump did promise those three things while knowing he would be dealing those RINOs.
There is no line item in the budget funding Planned Parenthood - that is an executive decision to give them funding without such a line item.
Building the wall and repealing Obamacare do indeed require Congress to pass a bill - although President Trump has done a great deal to repeal Obamacare to date since most of it was executive regulations which are being altered or eliminated. Even so, Congress did pass the repeal of the individual mandate, which was no small accomplishment. President Trump, love him or not, has kept or made a serious effort to keep every single one of his promises. Tucker Carlson is way off base.
Tucker says this as if another Republican candidate had won, they would have achieved these things. BWAHAHA.
You’re absolutely right. The Republican Congress thwarted him on each one of those issues.
Correct
Congress won’t fund the wall
Congress voted down a PP bill
Congress voted down Ocare repeal
Hold on, Tucker!
You are dead wrong to point at President Trump.
Let’s take a hard look at Congress and the (Obama) Courts.
Just for kicks also toss the media and talking heads into the analysis.
Again, Tucker Carlson is dead wrong with his criticism of Trump’s performance. Shame.
Exactly, and Tucker is a smart guy, he obviously knows this, so I’m forced to conclude that he just tossed BS out to generate a headline, which he hopes translates into viewers and clicks.
Anyone who tried this crap on his show would instantly be interrupted by Carlson who would challenge them on the basis that all require Congressional authorization.
Really disappointed in Tucker Carlson about this. He should have higher standards.
If he wasn't able to get a Republican Congress to do it then he's not going to get it done with the Democrats controlling one house.
Tucker Carlson wouldn’t last an hour in Trump’s shoes. I don’t watch Fox any more.
True. I have no more patience for these phony ‘never Trumper’s’ who don’t understand Constitutional government and how many people Trump has to fight.
