Hundreds of migrants begin to 'self-deport' back to Central America as TB, chicken pox [tr]

These are the hellish conditions that are driving members of the Central American migrant caravan to finally turn their backs on their US dream - by 'self-deporting'.

Despite traveling as much as 4,500 miles - much of it on foot - hundreds of migrants have already accepted free flights home rather than stay longer in the filth-strewn sports complex that has become their temporary home in Tijuana, Mexico.

Lice and respiratory infections are becoming endemic inside the Benito Juarez sports complex and health workers warn that it's a matter of 'when, not if' an outbreak of serious disease sweeps the scruffy labyrinth of tents and tarps sheltering an estimated 6,000 people.

Tijuana's Health Department revealed on Thursday that many are suffering from tuberculosis, chickenpox, and other skin infections.

So far, there have been three confirmed cases of tuberculosis, four of chickenpox, and four cases of HIV/AIDS.

Nice an outbreak of TB.

Diversity is our strength! Think of how long we in the US have been deprived of widespread TB.

My sister in Houston told me the money the city spent on airline tickets after Katrina was the best money they ever spent.

In the beginning, the Hustonians had compassion and opened the Astrodome to feed, clothe and house them.

The more ambitious of the group found jobs, relatives or whatever and cleared out within the first three weeks. It soon became apparent that there were a substantial number who would NEVER leave without more encouragement. Since IAH was the hub of Continential Airlines at the time, there were scores of flights which left daily with empty seats.

So the city struck up a deal with Continential and other airlines with similar empty seat problems. One-way tickets were made available to Astrodome refugees for a limited time. Within two short weeks or so, those remaining at the Astrodome was down to a couple hundred, which could easily be dispersed through the existing homeless shelter infrastructure.

What a mess:

The migrant caravan originated in Honduras on October 12 when it was erroneously reported on local TV that a radio host, Bartolo Fuentes, was willing to pay transportation costs for anyone travelling to the US.
-
Mexican officials deported 98 people for their part in the skirmish against US security agents and have banned migrants from holding protest marches close to the border
-
Others will settle for asylum in Mexico where they hope to secure work permits for a series of new construction projects proposed by the incoming government of Mexico’s left wing President elect, Andrés Manuel López, who takes power Saturday.

Bump. And the Caravan is made up of 3rd worlders who are even worse than New Orleans spill over. There are however very good people in Honduras, some of these may be, but no filter is applied.

Yep.

Now we REALLY can’t let anyone in.

It’s a YUGE risk to public health.

Always has been but now it’s being reported BEFORE they get in.

I won’t wish TB on anybody but I wish a few million more illegal aliens would self-deport.

Too bad there won’t be any buses or trucks to take them back.

If these losers actually walk back “home”, it will probably take them several months. They were transported with trucks and buses to the US border areas. Who cares?

Who will absorb the costs to get them back home? Who will transport them when many could well be carrying diseases? What towns will let them gather to rest?

Oh, wait...there’s Senior Horhay Soros...yeah...

Tijuana's Health Department revealed on Thursday that 'many' migrants are suffering from tuberculosis,... chickenpox,... skin infections,...flu....pneumonia,...diarrhea four confirmed cases of HIV/AIDS......The majority of people inside the camp have lice, and respiratory infections are becoming endemic inside the Benito Juarez sports complex. The stench from the toilets wafts across the entire camp, mingling with the smell of rotting trash, tobacco and occasional wafts of cannabis smoke...

...."We just want to work".....but they won't 'work' to clean up their surroundings.
