News broke on Tuesday that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had hired long-time "Never Trumper" and former Wall Street Journal editorial writer Mary Kissel as senior adviser for policy and strategic messaging. That’s right, a "Never Trumper" who vehemently opposed the policies Trump campaigned on is now advising Trump's secretary of state on policy.
This should seem like an oxymoron, a strange coincidence, or an unbelievable stroke of luck on the part of Kissel. Sadly, for Trump supporters, it’s not.
Hiring critics and firing loyalists is business as usual for the Trump administration. The outsider candidate who successfully campaigned against the Republican establishment, the neocons, the Bush administration, and the permanent political class has filled his administration with the same swamp creatures he promised to drain.

In olden days, WH Personnel had to sign off on all higher level political appointees before they could be brought on board. Sometimes, that central approval extended to even lower level Schedule Cs, as well. President Trump has allowed for too much devolution of power and he should have had the most loyal of loyalists in charge of personnel decisions.
A good way to understand Mary Kissel is to listen to the John Batchelor radio show. Batchelor, she, and other people on the program have gradually become more respectful of Trump since election. Batchelor has numerous very conservative and patriotic Trumpist guests, along with many old-school conservatives who are possibly a bit too wise in their own eyes.
Either Pompeo is a closet traitor to Trump, or he has a ‘thing’ going with this gal.
Is Pompeo taking her ass ? Or has she truly recanted ?
I don’t know if the woman is still as anti Trump as she once was. Could she have been converted? I’m just axen.

Like Trump, Pompeo runs a meritocracy. Everyone *thinks* they know this woman better than the man who spent time with her in the interview process, knows the job he wants done and her qualifications, and who is responsible for the consequences.

In any event, it is not clear the author answered his own question, so there is not much to refute. Rather it is clear he used the question merely to provide the background for a hit piece.
E.g., Trump...has filled his administration with the same swamp creatures he promised to drain.
"...second guessing from your La-Z-Boys..." includes supposing Pompeo is incapable of effectively monitoring the performance of his subordinates and the timely production of results he expects. Not at all likely, given his history.
This happens time and time again. And it has to stop. If Trump had to talk to Kissel in his office the chat would end when he threw her out the window. The condescending hate I’ve seen directed from Kissel toward POTUS and the Deplorables is vitriolic, she’d be spitting. You may have all seen her next to Maria Bartiromo sneering. Can we find anyone that’s not a libtard and actually up for some founding style/George Washington style conservatism? Can we please?

Did she oppose Trump after July 2016? If so, in my view, there’s no excuse. Those people tried their best to subject us to 1000 years of darkness. There should be no coming back from that.

Locally (central Wisconsin) I pick up Batchelor who follows motor mouth Shapiro (following Levin’s 6-9pm delayed-cast) on WLS am 890 at 9pm till midnight weekdays. Which is followed by Red Eye. His author interviews of books on subjects of American historical personalities and events are a must.

Not “second guessing.” Just pointing out the FACT that this woman has a long history of directly and fiercely bashing Trump in the media, taking the Bush line on foreign affairs, immigration and trade. If you want quotes, do some googling.
In an intelligently run private sector organization, rewards and appointments go to people who are not just competent, but share the CEO’s vision. It’s not common for CEOs and managers to hire people who’ve been savaging them in the media. Rewarding enemies undermines your agenda, makes you look weak and feckless, and sends a signal to people inside and outside of your organization that they can undermine and attack you with impunity.
