When America's powerful pro-gun group told doctors to mind their own business, the response was swift, furious and viral.
"Unless you've had someone's heart stop beating in your hands, you don't get to tell those of us who have what is and is not our 'lane'," trauma surgeon David Morris, 42, told the BBC.
The National Rifle Association's tweet on Wednesday sparked anger.
It came just hours before a gunman killed 12 people in a California bar.
"Someone should tell self-important anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane," the NRA tweeted.

FWIW, some 33,000 deaths occur in the US each year from firearms. That’s a lot, but not in the top 10. Physician error, though is estimated to cause over 250,000 deaths annually, making it the THIRD leading cause of death in the US annually.
Doctors kill more people than guns do.
If Dr. Morris' outrage lasts longer than four hours, he should consult a physician.
Violate the Second Amendment? Define it as a matter of "public health" and you are well on your way.

As far as I can tell, their only job is to screen you for a referral to a specialist or to prescribe a palliative for your untreatable health condition.

Also, more than 50% of USA physicians are female and/or foreign born, which goes a long way to explaining why our health system has moved Progressively to the Left for the last several decades.

Don't let them win the definitions game. Guns do not have volition. There is no evidence that more guns results in either more murders or more suicides.
There is plenty of contervailing evidence.
And if doctors want to save more lives than are lost to gun violence all they need to do is reduce their error rates by around 10%. No need to be perfect, just improve their work quality by a small amount.
Of course they could do even more if they focused on mental health, and avoided prescribing lucrative pain relief drugs that lead to addiction and the crime and violence associated with it. If they really wanted to save lives they could educate people so that abortion was as rare as possible, and they could work to end inner city gang related culture.
No problem if they simultaneously drop the regulations that prevent an open market for medical services. And in reality, they aren't going to quit due to a Constitutional right, they are going to quit because they are sick of excessive regulation and poor quality health care systems they work for.
Fair enough, “by firearms” would have been better. But clearly my point was that physician error is nearly 10 times as deadly as ALL firearm-related.
#17. Doctors and the CDC need to start a study on how many people die from violence by knife. If you add in the factor that some groupings of people have a more ready access to or cultural affinity for knives/swords/machetes, etc., then you can see another “never want to be discussed” problem.
How many doctors are opposed to the death penalty? Someone take a national poll. Then you’ll see their lack of concern for the murderers’ victims. The same for the forensic pathologists, etc.
How many doctors “declare” that a psychopath is “fit to be released”, and then takes no responsibility when their “fit” patient goes out and commits the same kind of murder, AGAIN?
Why has it taken the CDC so long to do realistic studies on crime, guns, weapons, etc? Hell, Obama and Holder had 8 years to do it and nobody would have objected if it was done scientifically and without any prejudicial guiding views.
The increasing attacks on conservatives in restaurants (add Tucker Carlson’s family), the streets, at their homes, offices, and at public events are a sure sign that some Marxist/communist/anarchist “soldier” is going to kill someone ala the Alexandria, Va. baseball field mass shooting.
The “progressives” are stoking this fire and they don’t realize that the wind could turn and them and they would be on the receiving end. There are a few insane people amongst the grouping “conservatives” and they will go “Negan” on the Dems and their Marxist shocktroops.
Then it might be all out war and guess who is better armed, trained, motivated, and willing to die to protect their families, homes, and countries.

The UW Dermatology Department does not even accept new patients.
I have every known risk factor for melanoma, including the most recently discovered factor - being taller than my age group peers.
If you cannot afford elite medical care in the USA, then we already have a Third World nationalized health system.
