The Latest: Judge orders county to accept late ballots

ATLANTA The Latest on the race for governor in Georgia (all times local):

8:15 p.m.

A judge in Dougherty County has ordered the county to accept absentee ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Friday.

The ruling was a result of a lawsuit filed by the Democratic Party of Georgia.

Abrams for Governor campaign chairwoman Allegra Lawrence-Hardy says the campaign will continue to take legal action as necessary until every eligible vote is counted.

The campaign filed a complaint in federal court asking for an injunction to direct the board of elections to count any absentee ballots received between 7 p.m. on Election Day and close of business Friday, which is consistent with the way that counting overseas military and overseas citizens' ballots is handled.

Unofficial returns from Tuesday's midterm election show Republican Brian Kemp with 50.3 percent of the vote. That's a lead that would make him the victor without a runoff.

5:15 p.m.

A populous, majority-black county in metro Atlanta says its elections office will remain open past normal hours Friday to accommodate provisional voters who needed to provide identification so their votes can be counted.

DeKalb County has about 750,000 residents and could help Democrat Stacey Abrams close the gap on Republican Brian Kemp in Georgia's gubernatorial race.

But two groups supporting Abrams' call to count all votes, ProGeorgia and Care in Action, say at least 12 other counties certified election results before Friday. Such a move could leave provisional ballots uncounted.

The secretary of state's office did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

I mean really, if you are interested in voting, register, get a proper, local ID and get your vote(s) in by Election Day or go home.

Simple.

Cowboy Up.

Exercise your Personal Liberty.

Or move to Venezuela.

Not only do they want early voting but they want late voting, too.

It depends on what the law says, not what the hell you think.

Nope.

It depends on what a judge SAYS the law says.

Unlawful orders remain unlawful.

The judge has no authority to change election law after the fact.

Having insiders in the USPS allows for easy backdated postmarking.

Yes, the criminals have such people to do their dirty deeds. I have witnessed convicted felons handling mailed ballots working in an offsite mailroom under the eye of a parole officer who was a hardcore Democrat. They did exactly what they were told and knew to shut up about it.

That was Dino Rossi vs. Christine Gregoire for the 2004 Governorship of WA State. Election stolen in plain sight.

The election system has so many vulnerabilities. One certain election officers understand the ropes, it becomes easy to steal an election.

Think Dean Logan, King County Director of Elections. Caught redhanded, allowed to resign; moved to Los Angeles and got a job. Guess where? Los Angeles County Elections Office now known as the County Registrar’s Office:

https://www.sos.ca.gov/elections/voting-resources/county-elections-offices

Scroll down to (19) for LA County and he is there.

His new job was actually a promotion. The Democrat Party values experienced successful cheaters.

Democrats control SEIU who have MS-13 as enforcers.

Getting an SEIU US Postal Worker to provide some postmark stamps is as easy as making a phone call. Postmarking is so easy.

We say that every election cycle and the Dems shoot down every common sense reform we come up with. They don’t want it fixed.

Well, ofcourse!

Absentee ballots are 70% of the fraud.

With all of the media coverage of Florida (which is not enough), I worry AZ & GA are being even more ignored.

Here’s the way it works:

You mail thousands of empty unsealed absentee ballot envelopes and hide them when they arrive.

How does this have anything at all to do with early voting?

Seems to me the solution is to accept no ballots after election day no matter when it is mailed.

The deadline has passed and Kemp is still Governor Elect and Woodall (R), the one which is affected by the Dougherty County decision, is still ahead by 901 votes and is headed to a recount.

For Abrams, she basically is pulling a Hillary even though Kemp garnered 50.33% of the vote and received 1.6% more votes than her. Kemp's advantage is ~63,000 votes.

So it is more than over and time for Abrams to figure out what is next in her life. Also, it is time for her to quit throwing shade on Kemp's victory and the people that voted for him as Governor of Georgia.

Early voting wasn’t enough, now the Democrats have late voting.”””

Remember when in 2000 Gore did NOT want ANY military votes counted???

The ballots had mysteriously been sent out to military members WAAAY late, IIRC.

early voting in person might not be as bad as early voting by mail. But it still gives more time for the perpetrators of Vote fraud to do there magic. With Voter ID it would not be as bad. Early voting by mail leaves no true verification at all.

One has to take into account that it is not just voters who commit fraud. The so called officials do it too. When you get a group like they have in Broward then it happens continuously. The more time they have to work their magic....
