ATLANTA The Latest on the race for governor in Georgia (all times local):

A judge in Dougherty County has ordered the county to accept absentee ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Friday.
The ruling was a result of a lawsuit filed by the Democratic Party of Georgia.
Abrams for Governor campaign chairwoman Allegra Lawrence-Hardy says the campaign will continue to take legal action as necessary until every eligible vote is counted.
The campaign filed a complaint in federal court asking for an injunction to direct the board of elections to count any absentee ballots received between 7 p.m. on Election Day and close of business Friday, which is consistent with the way that counting overseas military and overseas citizens' ballots is handled.
Unofficial returns from Tuesday's midterm election show Republican Brian Kemp with 50.3 percent of the vote. That's a lead that would make him the victor without a runoff.

A populous, majority-black county in metro Atlanta says its elections office will remain open past normal hours Friday to accommodate provisional voters who needed to provide identification so their votes can be counted.
DeKalb County has about 750,000 residents and could help Democrat Stacey Abrams close the gap on Republican Brian Kemp in Georgia's gubernatorial race.
But two groups supporting Abrams' call to count all votes, ProGeorgia and Care in Action, say at least 12 other counties certified election results before Friday. Such a move could leave provisional ballots uncounted.
The secretary of state's office did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

I did absentee for the Primary for the 1st time this year... here you can do absentee if you present yourself and fill in an application and say why...being over 60 is one reason...away from the county/state and where you will be is another...military over seas etc...
By law the ballots don’t go out until a certain date then I had about 2 weeks turn around time to mark it and send MAIL it in by a date that was about TWO weeks before the actual election day...not the postmark the RECEIVING day was the important one...BEFORE election day...
When I got back I went to the election commission and my name was on a list of people who successfully sent in their ballot...by the right date...there was the date they received it by my name...

There’s a reason she filed this in Dougherty County. It has the second highest concentration of blacks in Georgia at 68% per the 2013 Census info....right behind Hancock County.

I’m reading accounts that the judge in this case is Abrams’ sister; appointed by Saint Bath House in 2014. This is a HUGE conflict of interest. Why did the campaign take the suit to THIS court? People are getting all over this, it can’t possibly stand.

An amazing fact about the federal judges in the judicial circuit in Albany? One of them is named Leslie Abrams. She is the sister of Stacey Abrams and was appointed by Barack Obama.
I’m not saying it’s a problem, but I think I’d make a point about it in my press conferences for full disclosure.

Why bother with elections?Every time the Democrat Party doesn’t like the outcome, they go to the courts and the courts steal the election for them.
The Judge obviously thinks he is a one man Legislature, just like Chief Justice Roberts did with Obamacare.
