There’s a deep dark hole with Brennan’s name on it just waiting for him to spend the rest of his natural life there.

I believe Whitaker's appointment falls under the Vacancies Reform Act which can not have been done if Sessions was fired.

And THAT'S why Sessions was specific to the President's request for his resignation.

Rosenstein must be sputtering....You shouldn't have even thought about wearing a wire dumb a**.

Which brings up the question, will Session wake up in the Village? And who will be #2?

Well, you can get attacked for pretty much anything here. Nature of the space. I agree, of course it won’t succeed, but they are already running for 2020 and they intend to break him down with “heavy artillery” every day.

They were pretty darned successful yesterday - getting some races in red states to be way, way too close. This isn’t going to be easy and complete failure and loss of the country is a definite possibility. If we lose it, it’s pretty clear we are never getting it back.

You know about California and I know about NY, NJ, MD, MA, Conn, RI.

They took over the schools and churches and Hollywood and the news and the courts and we let them.

It has to stop.

>>>I think we need a Constitutional Crisis...a humongous one. We need to have this out once and for all. Its time for war. Let’s have it out a bring it all to a head.

Some people will say you are nuts. Not me. It SHOULD be intuitively obvious even to the most casual observer that we cannot live side by side with these people for much longer. They do NOT want to live as we do and we do NOT want to live like them. Something has to give.

I wonder if there will ever be a movement to explore the reasons why 1/3 of the colonialists chose to remain loyal to the crown. Perhaps the leading rationale was a direct refutation of Adam's conceit that a republican government could exist as long as the franchise was restricted to certain types of highly moral individuals.

The counter argument of course is that the franchise could easily be corrupted, expanded/diluted/de-valued to include those who would raid the public purse for personal and selfish reasons. Anyone with even a passing understanding of history could see this coming - why all democracies eventually fail, and revert to authoritarian regimes to protect the interests of the productive class.

Whether speaking rhetorically, and with prescience, the penalties for the long awaited short comings, failing and intentional sabotage are finally coming due. 225 years - can it last another 75 to make it 300? Still short of the Roman republic, and nowhere near as stable as many empires - (E) Roman, HRE, British, French, Russian et al.

If John Brennan is to deliver warnings, he should do it by letter carried by his lawyer from Gitmo.

The thinking now is that Adams was misquoted or misinterpreted. At one point in the conflict with Parliament a third of colonists may have favored the British side, but during the shooting war, only about fifth of the population were Loyalists. Or so I've heard.

I think I saw him in the end of "Checkmate" playing chess with #6, reminding him that we are all pawns.

The extreme lefties are going ape over the firing of Sessions!

Does that tell us something about their covert relationship with Sessions?

This puts to rest the notion that Sessions was just a good-natured guy over his head.

Regardless of the actual % and/or #, I don't believe there's ever been much of a conclusive study as to the rationale for remaining loyal to the crown.

For instance, we do know that Franklin's son - the then royal governor to NJ - set sail for England after Yorktown, never to return nor speak to his father again.

Why? Did loyalists believe the Founders were guilty of being egoists? That they, in their infinite wisdom, could design a foolproof plan for a lasting self-governing republic? One, incidentally, that had never existed before more than a few hundred years before? (Does this sound somewhat like the current generation of socialists arguing that it has never been implemented the 'correct way' before?)

What we are seeing transpire today is just a modern update on what has been occurring since at least 1913. The appeal to self, instead of stability, only required as Tocqueville remarked, a simple alteration in the perception of public duty.

And here we are, facing a fight for control of government and the ability to rule over adversaries who are harmful to the public weal, really no different that the Spanish and countless other civil wars engaged to either confiscate or protect the wealth and continuing civilizing activities of the productive class.
