There’s something about the mob mentality that is inherently chaotic and frightening.
You see, in “mob” situations, where emotions are running incredibly high, even the slightest movement among the crowd can create a tidal wave of force. A rumor, or an errant tweet, even, could send what was once a peaceful crowd into the rafters of anger. This is what sent citizens streaming out onto the nation’s highways years ago when Black Lives Matter still looked like it had a shot of being a productive movement.
Of course, it has since devolved into a barbaric and murderous mess, as we saw in Dallas in 2016.
Antifa, for what they’re worth, aren’t any better at maintaining order among their ranks, and have been involved in a number of violent and anti-Constitutional incidents during their brief existence.
Now, as the two combine forces in Portland, no one is safe; not even the elderly or handicapped.
