Top Republicans tell Axios that they're seeing a surprising and widespread surge in GOP voter enthusiasm, powered largely by support for Brett Kavanaugh and his Supreme Court nomination.
What they're saying: "The Kavanaugh debate has dropped a political grenade into the middle of an electorate that had been largely locked in Democrats' favor for the past six months," said Josh Holmes, a former top aide to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
In North Dakota, one of the top races, a Fox News poll yesterday showed Republican challenger Kevin Cramer leading Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D) by 12 points (53%-41%) up from four points last month.
"ND now appears out of reach entirely for Democrats," Holmes said.
Another stark example:
Missouri Rising Action, a super PAC backing Republican Josh Hawley, yesterday got back numbers from pollster Jim McLaughlin showing Hawley leading Sen. Claire McCaskill (D) by 52-44.
That's a huge swing from the previous poll, in June, which had McCaskill leading Hawley 46-42.

At this point I’d favo that Socialist DeLeon defeting Feinstein since there’s no R on the ballot ... Rs in CA should go out and vote for DeLeon, at least he’d be low man on the Senatorial totum pole and in the next few years the CA GOP could try ot get its act together to actually run good contests and win again.
The pilot of one of those Dauntless Dive Bombers, as he was pulling up out of his dive on carrier Akagi, called over his shoulder into the radio mic: “Arizona, I Remember You.”
Brett Bounce?
How about the Kavanaugh Kaboom!
The left is blaming the FBI now. Do they ever look in the mirror and think, maybe they caused this delay, it is their fault?
I won’t be relaxing until after the votes are all counted on Nov. 7, and maybe not even then, but it’s undeniable that the Dems have screwed the pooch with their bared-teeth no-holds-barred resistance to Kavanaugh.
By their own actions, they have made it perfectly plain, and have given a fish-in-face reminder to all of Trump’s supporters, just how low they are willing to go, and just what is at stake in the mid-terms.
Agree
. . . when the scores are settled
Kavanaugh could go out at one of the Trump rallies and boost the crowds energy next week.
“All depends on Flake, Murkowski, and Collins..unfortunately the GOP is stuck with those three losers to depend on for this vote”
Too true. I’m still peeved at mcconnell and grassley for not having their ducks in a row before these hearings even started. We knew flake was a lameduck POS but extreme pressure could have been asserted on the abortion sisters a long time ago.
This entire ordeal has awakened voters, boosting energy but many people need to take a rest after it is over.
this is the real deal folks: we’re finally getting a peak at some of the Pubs’ private (NON-FAKE) polling ... this confirms the antecedent evidence folks have been posting here ... it also confirms my gut feeling about the Brett Bounce ... my gut was very unsure of the outcome of the 2016 midterms prior to the Kavanaugh hearings ... but the bogus, scorched earth smear campaign against Kavanaugh has turned things around ... the ancient dinosaur Dems on the Judiciary Committee didn’t realize that they no longer lived in the 20th century where we peasants had no information sources except for carefully selected propaganda video from ABC/CBS/NBC ... whereas we peasants now have hundreds of data sources and can view all of this stuff in real time ... they didn’t realize that the nation would be riveted in real time on this issue like no other political issue in our lifetime ... and what we’ve seen has turned our collective stomachs ...
You think McConnell is counting his votes before taking a vote?
The media has lost a lot of credibility which can never be regained. The Dems. are too far to the left to appeal to the masses.
“...Do they ever look in the mirror and think, maybe they caused this delay, it is their fault?...”
Nope. You have to have real genuine human emotions to be able to deduce that.
And a level of intellect/intelligence above that of amoebic dysentary, which they CLEARLY, “collectively” do not possess.
That is the fear.
I thought it would be hard to beat Reagan over Carter, but this one did it.
As for the House, the Democrats would need to run the table on contested seats to win the majority. That's not going to happen. I think odds are better than 50/50 that the Republicans actually add to their current House majority.
Democrats need to flip 24 House seats to hand the gavel back to Pelosi. This isn't happening.
“You think McConnell is counting his votes before taking a vote?”
TBH, I don’t know what he’s doing...He should of held the vote 2 weeks ago. If he didn’t have the abortion sisters on board then they weren’t going to be on board after the Ford testimony.
McConnell and Trump seem confident but lots of stories keep the drama going. Maybe the media is keeping it going. Who knows?
“The media has lost a lot of credibility which can never be regained. The Dems. are too far to the left to appeal to the masses.”
indeed. and the great and lovely irony is that their rabid hatred of Trump and the fact that he beat their beloved Hillary has caused them to totally lose all reason and shift radically to the left as the “solution” to their problems ... pretty much every success Trump has, every rally Trump conducts, and every tweet Trump makes causes them to shift just a little bit more leftwards ...
The country does not want to step backwards to a Pelosi again.
