GOP Sen. Ben Sasse (Neb.) said Wednesday night that he urged President Trump to nominate someone other than Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court earlier this year.
"Although I've said many complimentary things about Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his distinguished record … I will say that I urged the president back in June and early July to make a different choice before he announced this nomination," Sasse said during an emotional speech from the Senate floor centering on sexual assault.

I just called his office in Omaha. I told her I want him to Vote to confirm Kavanaugh. I also told her even though he hates Trump he needs to stop giving the democrats ammunition.
I plan to change from Independent to Republican just to vote against him in the primaries.
Basically this idiot is saying that he told Trump to nominate a woman so the left couldn’t smear her as a rapist as they would any man Trump would nominate. Kav was not on the Prez’s short list last spring when Sasse purportedly gave him this worthless advice. At that time Kav was the most respected Jurist in the country. Why would bright Ben have offered such unwarranted advice?
