The Senate Judiciary Committee Votes On Whether To Move Brett Kavanaugh's Nomination | LIVE

Man! When Lindsay Graham is on your side, it’s a beautiful thing. He’s so good.
I think I’ve had too much coffee. that is one long run-on sentence. lol
Yes that year book thing was comedy gold.
I would love to see a show such as Saturday night live do a parody skit of that, but I don’t think the liberal idiots who run that show would ever make fun of that.
Agreed. I don't like him or trust him, but he is speaking honestly and like a patriot. This week is the first time in years I've been glad to have him in the Senate.
Oh for crying out loud I stepped away to go and put some stuff for lunch in the oven I come back and they’re still in the same crappy Ola atmosphere! Take the freaking vote already!
What happened to Graham, did he fall and hit his head. Cause he’s talkin more sense lately than he has in the last 10 years!!
This vote today is to get it out of committee and on to the whole Senate for confirmation. Thatll happen Monday or Tuesday.
As far as keeping the House, I think it works for the pubbies. The people have now seen the hate and obstruction of the Dems and will reward the pubbies. IMHO
Senator Graham has certainly been a surprise of late.
Let me provide another surprise.
My mother-in-law, who is 89-to be 90 in October, was once a loyal liberal, voting both times for Barack Obama and constantly singing his praises.
But with Trump she’s a whole different person. She loves Trump.
Anyway, we’re talking yesterday and it turns out that as of her old age she’s become very political, now watches Fox.
So she says “You know which Senator I really like?”
I tend to hesitate when a liberal, formal or current, says this because they’ll name someone like ole Deliverance Joe on MSNBC or that former Governor of Ohio.
They think we, as in conservatives, will be so impressed that they like when of our guys but it only proves how left Deliverance Joe or Kasich is.
But I ask my mother-in-law who she likes so much.
“SENATOR LINDSAY GRAHAM!”
I doubt my mother-in-law knows much about Senator Graham but she’d be surprised to learn how disliked he has been from time to time for his relationship with the lovely and sweet former Senator now burning in hell.
The committee simply votes to endorse; the majority leader can move to confirm to the full Senate without the committees endorsement. Better not to do this, and it will most likely not be necessary.
Lindsey Graham is a Patriot!
Glad he is on our side.
Yes, the media said the vote was at 9:30am, but that was not the vote on Kavanaugh, that was the committee vote on the motion to end debate and set the time of the vote on Kavanaugh.
Grassley said that before he submitted the motion to set the vote, that he would entertain minority motions. That's when Blumenthal motioned to subpoena Mark Judge. Grassley called the vote on Blumenthal's motion for subpoena, which was voted down 10-11.
Grassley then called the motion to set the vote on Kavanaugh at 1:30pm, but Durbin tried to interject a point of order. Grassley ignored Durbin's point of order and proceed to call the vote on his motion to set the vote on Kavanaugh at 1:30pm. That vote was 11-8, with Harris and Booker refusing to vote in protest.
So now the vote on Kavanaugh is at 1:30pm. Once that vote happens, the Grassley/Feinstein show is over, and we move to the main stage where the McConnell/Schumer show begins.
That show begins with a 24-hour debate period before McConnell can call for a cloture vote, which is a vote to end debate and proceed to the final vote. That vote should be on Saturday at around 2:00pm. Once cloture is passed, the clock begins on a 30-hour deliberation period before the final Senate vote on Kavanaugh can happen. That vote should be around 9:00pm on Sunday.
These are the milestones. We'll have to wait and see what Schumer has in store for McConnell, and how adept McConnell will be at deflecting it.

Jeff Flake walks out - hopefully because Durbin is making him sick, and not because he wants to go put on a pussy hat and march outside with the idiotic Democrats.
Great friend of mine told me yesterday that both of his elderly parents switched from life-long democrats to republicans yesterday.
Didn’t see it before I posted.
Great summary! Thanks for posting that!
So many idiots. Dems changed the rules on mental illness so they can keep their jobs
Boy, Graham has sure come up in my estimation. Still think he’s a war hawk, but on this he’s been a real decent, thoughtful leader..
Durbin was next, muted the volume. I know what he’s going to do, smear BK, put the lying bitch Ford on a pedestal & cry about no proper FBI investgation. Oh I forgot, probably the same old nonsense about rape victims being afraid now to come forward, if BK can get away with this and be on the court...
What is the penalty again, if I run into him at an airport and spit on him???
He has his shining moments but he’s still wrong most of the time.
