Smash Racism DC told a hispanic customer that he was unwelcome there and harassed him until he left. Just as the Democrats of the KKK used to do to defiant black patrons at lunchroom counters.

Exactly right - I’d have been civil, maybe even friendly and went on FB Live/Twitter Live/Insta-stripper-gram Live (if any of those are a thing), to show the world the “tolerant” left lunacy.

Most likely Cruz had made a reservation. I suspect that it was restaurant staff that alerted the protestors ahead of him getting there. Maybe not the restaurant but at least some of the staff is complicit.

Food intolerance is not the same as being allergic to what is being eaten.
If for instance you are lactose intolerant, you can still drink milk even though it would make you uncomfortable, but would not kill you.
That is what they are referring to.

A lot of people on this forum just Ass-u-me that this restaurant is somehow to blame, and jump to calling for boycotts and smearing them on Yelp.
Bottom Line: There is no indication whatsoever that anyone associated with the restaurant had anything to do with the Leftist protesters. The tone of voice indicates that the restaurant guy telling the protesters to leave was offended by their behavior. The restaurant staff can be seen on the video telling the protesters to leave, and being physically protective of Senator Cruz and his wife.
In the case of Kirstjen Nielsen, who was recently hounded from a DC restaurant by a similar Leftist flash mob, it was another patron in the restaurant who alerted the Leftists.
Let’s focus on the actual perpetrators, and their organizations (Smash Racism DC, Democratic Socialists of America, etc.).
Maybe it's time to start. But in a more civilized manner. I suggest unfolding a sign with the aborted baby parts and the question "Why do you want to kill babies?", displaying it to the target and those nearby, and asking the question in a normal (for the surroundings) level of voice.
Remember the old saying, "Don't get mad, get even".
Or even worse for committed progressives, "We are praying for your souls, though you kill babies. May God in his Grace change your heart".
And few of today's snowflake waiters and bartenders can double as bouncers.

The last time these groups hounded someone from a DC restaurant with a disruptive chanting flash mob (Kirstjen Nielsen), the restaurant staff had nothing to do with it. A Democratic Socialists of America DC Chapter member was eating there, and alerted the others over social media.
There is no indication that restaurant staff were involved with the protesters - the indications are that they opposed the protesters, and did what they could during the very few minutes it lasted.
A bunch of them live and work in the downtown DC area (many in Government). They have a active effort to keep an eye out for Republicans/Administration personnel, and have prepared an alert system to muster their flash mobs.

The Leftist organizations that conduct these flash mobs (like the DSA) are a a tiny minority of extremists. They do not have broad networks of sympathizers in restaurants around the city. The folks who work in restaurants are in fact very different from these ivory tower Leftist freaks who make fools of themselves with their fanatical, illogical, histrionics.
The most likely cause is not that restaurant staff alerted the Leftists, but rather that one of the Leftists who live/work in downtown DC happened to see him, and tweeted it out over social media. That is what happened with Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen was hounded out of a restaurant in DC by the same network of Leftists. They explicitly hunt for Conservatives to hound, and have a standing alert system/response protocol they have practiced.
Boycotting any street corner or public space where they happen to conduct an ambush, is not only not ineffective at countering their organizations or doctrines, it actually discredits our side.

The restaurant requires reservations. Cruse was accosted right when he sat down. He didn’t even get a chance to order. How did the mob get there so fast? I’m just sayin’

The last time (Kirstjen Nielsen), one of the DSA members saw when she walked through the door. Someone from the Senator’s staff might have been overheard mentioning it (there are a bunch of DSA working on the Hill - dozens of Democratic legislators were members, before that was recently scrubbed, now they call themselves the Progressive Caucus).

If the restaurant had tipped off protesters, they likely would have been there earlier. You can see some video at the link, where restaurant staff can be seen opening a side door for Senator Cruz, and closing it to prevent the protesters from following. You can hear that the restaurant staff is not happy with the disruptors.
Roving bands of activists patrolling the byways of greater Washington DC looking for Republican targets of opportunity? I’m not sure they are quite that organized.
