Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge.
Per a second source with direct knowledge: “He’s expecting to be fired,” so plans to step down. Background: Rosenstein talked last year invoking the 25th Amendment and wearing a wire during Trump meetings, the N.Y. Times' Adam Goldman and Michael S. Schmidt reported last week. He denied both allegations.
Dems to scream: HE WAS FORCED OUT! ....... In 5......4.......3......2........

Fox Business reporting is a bit more confusing. They are reporting that Rosenstein offered a verbal resignation, but that he is “on his way to the WH” with the expectation that he will be fired.
The only one who could have leaked a story such as this, is Rosenstein. Everyone associated with Rosenstein leaks like a sieve. The fact that he has done nothing to stem these leaks, is reason enough for him to be fired. But his malfeasance goes far beyond mere leaking.

Word was that RR has requested at least 2 meeting with the WH and was rebuffed twice. Writing was on the wall. Regardless of the story, RR knew his days were numbered.
Interesting twist of course... countdown to Muller resignation (just kidding! though I think he should resign, he knows he’s been drafted into investigating a frame and cannot bring the case in).
