You have to know that answer before you craft a response. What does McConnell do if he just lost four Senators (and we know who they would be)?
Exactly right, this was all well thought out in advance. Without a doubt a good get out the vote effort has to be undertaken. If every single right-leaning voter in the country showed up for the midterms the Left would probably suffer a very demoralizing defeat. During the wailing and sackcloth wearing, someone could be confirmed. I cannot imagine that anyone doesn’t see this for what it is, but then again Kavanaugh’s polling approvals have dropped, which is astounding.
Lay out the case to the voters that unless they get to the polls, the shenanigans are only going to get worse.

You are 100% right, there is some chance, even if it is small (and it may not be), that the Dems win the Senate in November. They want to stall, and then refuse to confirm any Trump nominees. They’ll say Merrick Garland or nothing. This is potentially a huge disaster, and the Republicans either need to suck it up and just vote Kavanaugh through, or pull the nomination ASAP so they can get someone else through fast.
