In a bid which further delayed a vote on Judge Kavanaugh, Christine Blasey Ford's associates claimed earlier this week that Ford's too afraid to fly to Washington DC from California and instead needs to drive.
As ABC News reported on Friday:
[L]awyers for Ford are asking the Senate Judiciary Committee to schedule a hearing for her to be heard on Thursday, allowing time for Ford to make the drive from California to Washington D.C. Ford's friend, Kate Devarney, told CNN this week that Ford's fear of flying is directly related to her allegation of assault, and that an airplane is "the ultimate closed space where you cannot get away."

At the risk of getting flamed...I wonder if Grassley is playing the ultimate rope-a-dope?
Ford or her attorneys have said the repressed memory was the result of a counseling session in 2012. She (Ford) somehow had a copy of her therapists notes which state there were 4 males in the room. She says the notes are wrong and there was only Kavanaugh and Judge.
She says she doesn’t know when, where, or how she got to the party. She says she doesn’t remember how she got home.
She states there were only a few people at the party. Supposedly 4 males, herself and 1 other female.
She says she is so traumatized she cannot fly to DC for the hearings and has to drive, which is why she wants the Thursday session.
All of this has slowly come out over the past week since the allegations were leveled. Maybe Grassley is just giving her time to make stupid statements to the media (she has to keep the story alive) to box her into her statements.
Since all this started we know the following: The counseling records stating 4 males are just that, records. Is it possible the therapist TRANSCRIBED the notes from a tape? If so, then I would bet Grassley has already quietly secured a copy of it.
Kavanaugh, Smyth, Judge and now the anonymous female have ALL stated they don’t remember a party as described by Ford and certainly don’t remember Kavanaugh being present at any such gathering. That pretty much eliminates everyone Ford identified as “witnesses”.
I’d bet Grassley has copies of travel itineraries of Dr. Ford where she traveled via air numerous times without stating she has or requires “special accommodations”. So much for the trauma.
I’m thinking Grassley has been quietly getting information about all the points Dr Ford has used to attack Judge Kavanaugh and is just keeping his cards close to his vest in order to have enough factual evidence to show everyone that this is nothing more than political theater manufactured by Dems.
This could backfire on the Democrats bigtime. Also, Grassley could send a “no recommendation” to the floor and hope for a 51-49 partyline vote or a 50-50 vote with Pence casting the deciding vote.
Worst case, the Democrats gain the House and Senate and launch an “investigation” of Kavanaugh. They could impeach him in the House, but unless the bottom falls out, they’d still need a two-thirds vote in the Senate to convict. Highly unlikely.
The Dems may be a little too cocky about this. The incident with Keith Ellison is being talked about more often now. Sherod Brown from Ohio has some skeletons in his closet that are being discussed. Al Franken is the Dems poster boy for sexual harassment and of course, Corey “Call me Spartacus” Booker has already copped to...well, several things.
As someone said in an earlier post, we need to keep together and quit the “I’m going to teach the Republicans a lesson by not voting..” mindset. That worked well for us during Obama’s tenure. If we take one thing away from this, let it be that if we don’t get the vote out on our side, we’ve let our President down. He’s keeping his promises everyday against some incredible odds. We sit at our keyboards and grouse.
Let the flaming begin.

I totally agree with that, this is part of their plan and more to come to insane to not have some of these Rs involved.
if she’s in DE why can’t she testify Monday? why later in week?
What year make and model vehicle will she be transported in? What is the approximate mileage? Does ir have good tires and brakes?
She may be broken down in a little town in MO and unable to get parts for 2-3 days. Yah...that’s the ticket...everyone will be obliged to believe her.
And Lord help us if those wisdom teeth flare up again? If anyone takes her shenanigans seriously, they’re a sucker and deserve the misfortune that will follow them in life.

In fact, she always wears a one piece bathing suit under her clothes, since, 35--or was that 36? 37?--years ago, somewhere unknown, it proved too difficult for a drunken attacker to remove one from her drunken body.
