In an interview before a Las Vegas rally Thursday night, President Trump wondered why Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser Christine Blasey Ford didn’t “call the FBI 36 years ago” to report his sexual misdeed.
“To take a man like this and besmirch,” Trump said to Fox News personality Sean Hannity of the allegations that have rocked his second Supreme Court pick. “That being said, let her have her say, and let’s see how it all works out.”
Trump spoke to Hannity directly before the Nevada campaign rally, where he continued to hold his tongue when speaking about Ford – who accused Kavanaugh of a high school-era sexual assault – while still firmly taking the judge’s side.
To Hannity, Trump called it a “very sad situation,” characterizing Kavanaugh as an “outstanding person.” He also said Senate Democrats shouldn’t delay the vote on Kavanaugh, which was supposed to go through the Senate Judiciary Committee this week, much longer.
“They’ve delayed it a week already, they have to get on with it.”

Why didn’t she call the local police department? If such alleged act took place, it was a state and not a federal crime.
It is easier to smear someone with uncorroborated gossip than it is to prove a crime in a court of law.
She by certain accounts was an intelligent teenager and would have known to call the FBI if the incident did occur.

Even a teenager in 1978 would know to call 911. That connects to a local emergency dispatch center, not the Federals.

the subject matter of the accusation (even if it had been true, which sounds extremely doubtful) wasn’t a federal crime then, just as it is not a federal crime now?

He was making fun of the fact that she wants the FBI to investigate it at all.
“Calling the FBI” would have been a little bit of overreaction on any allegation of “groping”. The fact was, NO authorities were called, and the “incident” in and of itself, does not constitute “rape”, otherwise millions of men who were once teenagers themselves would stand in great danger of being exposed as “rapists”.
There would be no problem like this at all in a nation under Sharia Law. The female bringing such an accusation would simply have been stoned.
Calling the FBI will result in no investigation. The proper authority is local government where the so call fake attack happened. Why she did not, if because this jackass was very wild and still is to this day.
