WASHINGTON (AP) — Abandoning his previous restraint, President Donald Trump challenged by name the woman accusing his Supreme Court nominee of sexual assault on Friday, declaring that if the alleged attack was so terrible she would have reported it to law enforcement.
Trump’s change in tone — and apparent shift in tactics — came as Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyers negotiate with the Senate Judiciary Committee on the terms for her possible testimony next week in a dramatic showdown over her accusation that threatens Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
Trump tweeted: “I have no doubt that, if the attack on Dr. Ford was as bad as she says, charges would have been immediately filed with local Law Enforcement Authorities by either her or her loving parents. I ask that she bring those filings forward so that we can learn date, time, and place!”
The president previously had avoided naming Ford or plainly casting doubt on her account. Ford alleges Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her more than 30 years ago when they were teenagers. Kavanaugh has denied the allegation.

Let's just say I maintain a healthy skepticism towards polls and wouldn't base my position on the results of a single one. I'd look for trends.
Do you think Ford will ever issue a statement under oath? I am not being snarky, I am asking very respectfully. Personally I doubt it because despite all the hoopla given by the press and her supporters about the polygraph it proves nothing and is not admissible. A sworn testimony or even an affidavit is another matter and the abuse of these can lead to perjury charges. I doubt Ford is willing to expose herself to that possibility.

The Dems are doing this to energize their base and show how hard they tried to derail Kavanaugh's confirmation. It also acts as a cover to keep all the Dems on the plantation in terms of the Senate vote. The red state Dem senators now have cover to vote against Kavanaugh and to burnish their credentials as defenders of women.

I TOTALLY disagree with you. This clear statement will put Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court.
Trump only makes Ford a victim in weak minds that don’t have the power to think for themselves. Weak minds that have been programmed by the leftists. He doesn’t make gaffes. He makes good sense! Nobody with any sense of justice would ever give Ford one ounce of credibility.
