I feel compelled to get something off my chest this morning about a profession I hold in high regard. I am a retired polygraph examiner and administered several thousand polygraph examinations during my career. I also was a Director and instructor of a national Polygraph School. The fact that Dr. Ford took a polygraph test and was said to have passed means nothing to me. Can a polygraph test be beat? Yes...it sure can. Actually the polygraph can't be beat the polygraph examiner can. As in a critical medical diagnosis, a second opinion is necessary for professional efficacy so too a polygraph test should be administered by two separate examiners following proper protocol. This most likely did not occur with Dr. Ford. She, with her Psychological background easily could have applied the principles of fight or flight utilized in a polygraph exam to give a false reading on her exam. So, no I put no weight on Dr. Ford's polygraph test but I do hold to polygraph tests, administered properly are accurate.
Polygraph Tests are JUNK.
I headed security in a former life and a polygraph had one purpose. The test intimidates gullible ignorant, usually young suspects into CONFESSION.
Polygraphs are junk science, guilt by intimidation.
If you are asked to take a polygraph test, just say no they are junk science.
If you still must take the test, remember it is an intimidation tool. Verbally trash the examiner theoughout the test that it is unreliable junk, that he lies, it is false accusation and not used in court.
Finallly, never ever confess when under a test.
The secret is out. Shhh.
Me either, thanks for your comments.
I get the impression that the party was held at a private residence in Maryland. I don’t know if that has been confirmed or not.
If so, and the house had a pool, it’s quite possible that she had been swimming. There is nothing unusual about pool parties. It would be helpful to know what time of year it was. If mid-winter, I would be skeptical.
If she had been swimming at another location, she would have changed into street clothes before going to the party.
Serious question: Has this ever happened?:
Subject’s attorney: “My client would prefer that one trained polygrapher adminster test, and a different polygrapher interpret the graph.”
Investigating agency: “Ok, that’s only fair.”
so you were there, and have direct knowledge that nobody did any swimming that day? Nice! Call the networks.
She can't prove I wasn't...
that’s true. so why haven’t you come forward?
Speaking of which, would I ever love to strap Diane Frankenfeinstein up to a box: “Did you know that your former staffer/driver was a spy for the Chinese government before you were notified by the FBI?”
I'm still remembering things in therapy. Only 57 more sessions to go...
Get my first bra in matching was with a Donna as well! Small world! She musta got around, wink wink!
Spell checker grrr r
Got my first bra unlatching with a Donna as well! ....
To give a good test, the examiner would have to interview the witness first about all the circumstances surrounding events that happened 36 years ago including several years before and several years after the event. If that didn’t happen, the results would be void and null.Polygraphs are all about a pattern of actions and a plural of events, not just one separate incident.
Thank you for your insight, and professional opinion. I didn’t know about 2 administrators per protocol.
one hand?
well hurry up then your time is limited.
Polygraph is not accurate, otherwise the test would be 100% accurate over 100% of the people.
That test is well established. Go get your blood pressure tested. Just seeing a Doctor’s white lab coat will double your blood pressure over your real rate.
Look at your medical chart.
Your blood pressure reading is FAKE.
Your heart rate number is FAKE.
The fake numbers are right there on your chart.
Quit being gullible to junk science.
Hook me up and I would tell the examiner his mother wears army boots, his wife is screwing the plumber, he looks like a sex offender and he has the eyes of a shoplifter.
I would win the intimidation game.
Never risk jail over somebody else’s opinion.
After the examiner got so disgusted with me, I would shop for other examiners until my test until my test passed me 100%. :-)
Look pa, I got a passing grade.
Blood pressure is changed when hearing the Velcro “rip” on the arm cuff.
It is evident you have never been administered a polygraph test by a professional investigator.
