Trump on Kavanaugh: 'If it takes a little delay,' that's OK

President Donald Trump on Monday said that "if it takes a little delay" to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, that's alright.

Trump stressed that Kavanaugh "never even had a little blemish on his record," adding, "He is somebody very special."

The White House was reeling on Monday in the wake of explosive allegations by a California professor, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who alleged that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her at a party when they were teenagers.

The allegations only became public in the past week, as Kavanaugh's confirmation seemed all but assured. Yet two Democratic lawmakers had known of them earlier this year. "I wish the Democrats could have done this a lot sooner," Trump said of the release of the allegations. "But with all of that being said, we want to go through the process."

Trump needs to not say anything and stay out of it!!

there should be NO delay

we all know the more the delay...the more time it gives the Rats to “find” something else

Here's the interesting angle to this, folks ...

Unlike the Clarence Thomas debacle, we now have a situation where a Republican president presented a nominee for the Supreme Court and a Republican Senate is tasked with confirming him. This means the GOP has the power to let this play out exactly as they see fit -- not just the results of the process, but the timing of the process.

If they delay Kavanaugh's confirmation vote, it's not because they think this accuser has any credibility or even that she deserves to be heard.

If they delay the confirmation vote it will be because they think they will get much more political leverage that way than if they hold the vote as scheduled.

I'm sure this is why Feinstein has gone silent. She probably has the entire Democrat Party leadership getting all over her ass behind the scenes for the way this is playing out.

Don’t you people get it?

What this woman has to say is irrelevant.

What IS relevant is that the Republicans are allowing Feinstein to do another make-believe Bork/Thomas hit job, KNOWING Trump is winning everything he puts his hand to.

It’s time for someone to suffer some consequences.

DiFi’s office would probably have been under surveillance in July because of her in-house Chinese spy. Perhaps accuser’s message to DiFi was intercepted and Trump knew this was coming.

If a delay ensures the enemy takes out a few more of its own personnel with its circular firing squad...? I say bring on the delay!

The longer this draws out, and the uglier it gets, and the closer to the election this is... the better republicans will do.... let em play their games

Oh man, that would be sweet. It would also explain why the Ds in the back office are so mad at her right now.

Why are we even discussing this? We know these are bogus claims. I’m so sick of the “republicans” bending over backwards to give the leftists whatever they want! It’s ignorant! Forget the moronic woman and get the vote on.

This is just about the weakest public statement I've ever seen Donald Trump make on any matter

No, it's just the truth. A little delay before a confirmation vote means nothing.

yes, the GOPe leadership has certainly looked hopeless for a long time

they look like SorozNazi or? ... bought them up ... lock stock and barrel

so that about all they do is support (or FEIGN opposition) to whatever the commie/Nazi leftists want

not much compromise, the extreme left gets what they want at least 99 pefcent, thanks to the GOP-e games-playing?

Uh...running out of time here. Trump must have said this because he was forced to by Corker Flake Collins. We got what, 5 weeks to get this done?

Grassley needs to demand that Ford gets in front of the Senate by the end of this week.
