Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley blasted ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein for her handling of high-school-era sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh...
....snip.. The chairman explained that the standard procedure for updates to any nominees background investigation file is to conduct separate follow-up calls with relevant parties. In this case, that would entail phone calls with at least Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Ford, adding, I asked Senator Feinsteins office yesterday to join me in scheduling these follow-ups. Thus far, they have refused. But as a necessary step in evaluating these claims, Ill continue working to set them up.

Where did this happen? When? How?
Exact details matter.
35 years ago, a drunk slut did the deed. As a minor. She apparently was known for pulling a train, in slow motion. Where were her parents? Teachers? Friends?
IMHO, shes a leftist agendanista who is making it all up about any KAVENAUGH involvement.
Twitter posts are not really a reliable source. I would be careful about putting too much faith in them.
My husband says he did not mess around in high school. Kissed one girl and made her cry. He took this high school date home right away. It must have been terrifying for him. Now - he can't make the same claim to me about not messing around with college girls.
Based on the lack of evidence presented and Feinstein's behavior, HELL YES!!! Not much there and the length of the delay needs to reflect that.
Going by your concern, this will not be delayed through Jan. 19. It's based on hearsay. 4 people were in the vicinity allegedly, the story keeps changing BTW, lol.
===============================================================
You think there needs to be evidence?
Come on now, I don't even know you and I know you know better than that.
B.t.w., it doesn't need to be delayed through Jan 19th. It only needs to be delayed another 49 days.
The "seriousness of the charge" is all that the never Trumper (R) Senators need to not vote to confirm him.
The proof that no evidence is needed has already happened. There was no legitimate reason to delay the vote that was already scheduled for this week.
I’m a woman, but I can certainly see that if a young teenager gets liquored up, he or she is quite liable to do something they would NEVER do, if sober. Wouldn’t have the nerve, or wouldn’t even think of it, especially a kid like I imagine Kavanaugh was -— eagle scout type, super reliable and so forth. Having said that, IF Kavanaugh did this, it is NOT a big deal, but lying about it IS. I sincerely hope he didn’t do it, and I don’t think he did, but if I’m wrong about that, and he has to admit to it NOW, he’s through. I really, really hope he’s telling the truth.
Actually, admitting to it now would be the worst thing. At this point, he has to stay the course or we lose more than the appointment.
Ladies, report directly after the fact, if not then it wasn’t assault. .
I can’t completely agree with that. A younger victim, or even some older ones, often feel a great deal of shame, even though they shouldn’t. And they feel like the person taking the report may think they contributed to an attack. And I’m pretty sure it’s embarrassing to have to detail the kind of things the perp did to them.
Guys usually don’t think the same way. They want it dealt with. On the other hand, look at all the victims who took years to report abuse by clergy. They felt ashamed that they didn’t stop the abuser, and felt weak. Guys don’t like to be perceived as weak.
Having said all that, these “me too” complaints, like “he touched my shoulder”, and other non-threatening acts, are absurd. But some of them were aggressive, predatory, didn’t take no for an answer, and usually had many victims, yeah -— they should be reported, even if it takes years to get up the guts to do it.
Agreed. The shameful show they put on during Kavanaugh’s hearings were beyond the pale. Democrats did everything but jump up and start flinging poo! Who votes for immature head cases like them?
I’m still steaming about Roy Moore’s treatment! Whether you liked him or not, those accusations were ridiculous. I’d like to know what ever happened to them. They seemed to have evaporated. I’m sure the democrats had a good laugh over that!
And by the way, Doug Jones just happens to be calling for Mark Judge to be SUBPOENAED! We can thank the republicans who refused to get out and vote for that.
Have we heard from McConnell, lately? He acted tough (for once) and declared Kavanaugh “Will be confirmed!” when he was nominated. Makes me wonder if he was in on this stunt, as well.
