Feinstein has a new statement out this afternoon saying the Senate should not take action on confirming Kavanaugh until the FBI investigates:
It has always been Mrs. Ford’s decision whether to come forward publicly. For any woman, sharing an experience involving sexual assault––particularly when it involves a politically connected man with influence, authority and power––is extraordinarily difficult.
From the outset, I have believed these allegations were extremely serious and bear heavily on Judge Kavanaugh’s character. However, as we have seen over the past few days, they also come at a price for the victim. I hope the attacks and shaming of her will stop and this will be treated with the seriousness it deserves.
I support Mrs. Ford’s decision to share her story, and now that she has, it is in the hands of the FBI to conduct an investigation. This should happen before the Senate moves forward on this nominee.

I am inclined to agree. It is all too neat. All of the Democratic talking heads are singing in unison too. The truth or falsity of the allegations are meaningless. It is all about smearing the nominee.
DiFi is also struggling to be reeclected and there are many strident voices in California’s Democratic Party who fault her for not being enough of a leftist. This is her response to appease these activists.

She should be reminded that the incident with Kavanagh happened only a few years before she hired a Chinese spy to work for her for the next 26 years.

There’s a much more rich environment to find crime by investigating the antics of Feinstein over the years.
This may give us a clue that the dims think they'll take the sinate.
As long as Kavanaugh remains stalwart in his defense that this could never have possibly happened, he doesn't even know who this woman is, and nobody comes forward with evidence to the contrary, he should be fine.
If his story starts falling apart, he's finished.
At least she didn’t accuse him of steering Billions of TaxPayer Dollars and Government Contracts to his Family Businesses.

I certainly admire Dianne’s chutzpah! Her problem is how to throw a turd at the nominee without getting any shit on her hands. So, the “anonymous” letter (the anonymity of which she honors only to have the name miraculously “leaked” to the press) which she dutifully turns over to the FBI at some unknown point (she says just now, the accuser says the FBI actually interviewed her two months ago and administered a lie detector test). Then, with the accuser, the press and the nominee playing hot potato with the turd, she (still disinterested) says its only appropriate to hold up the vote until a thorough investigation can be held.
It all depends on the plausibility of Dianne’s denial of complicity. In my book, she has none. This 11th hour Hail Mary play isn’t working. Her hands are covered with excrement!
