There are several prototype vehicles there as well as some other somewhat rare items and those are what I’m concentrating on the most right now. I don’t really hear much when the others are giving tours because I’m in the smaller area at the front and most of the things are in the larger back area. But Mark gave me a good run-through Sat. and the videos I took are a big help.
No 90s for the next two weeks? Great! ‘Bout time!
We’re still in the mid-60s and should have low 60s by morning. Tomorrow and Wed. will be upper 70s/low 80s, then the heat comes back Thurs. At least we’ll have upper 80s rather than low to mid 90s and that’s a plus.
Moogly’s doing pretty good. No more vomiting and that’s great. She’ll go back in a couple of weeks to have another blood draw to check her kidney functions and we’ll go from there. I hope the numbers have dropped by then.
I imagine your little “herd” are enjoying the cool weather. The kittens have never felt cool temps.
Glad to know she’s online and posting, even though it’s on FB. LOL! I whipped out an email to her earlier but have no clue how often she checks it. She’ll run across it eventually.
We’re all concerned. That’s an ugly storm headed her way.
Thanks, Pro, for the link...so many to read, and so much remembering. We WILL NOT ever forget!
Absolutely. NEVER!!
Good for Trace...thanks, hoagy.
I hope fall isn’t over yet!!!
Good thing to have...only need some batteries.
We remember 9/11. 17 years later.
You’re going to do just fine. I don’t think they’d care if you had some notes with you in case you forgot a detail or two. :)
Yep....upper 80s are way better than 90s or 100s. Mid-to-upper 80s is what we’ll have too. But maybe with lower humidity.
Then we go to WY where the highs are in the 70s and the lows in the 30s! I’m taking sweaters! LOL!
Glad you took care of you first...((HUGS))
Monday was a monster, and Tuesday will be worse. A new system in place and little to no training. Very frustrating.
Alaska had to get special permission to do some flying. So many villages are accessible only by small planes.
MAGA!!
my.....#50!!
Good evening/morning, caw...thanks for sharing the story and pictures.
I’m with you on the anger....so easily forgotten by so many. Wait til something happens in their city, heaven forbid.
The extra time did allow me to get all my stuff in. It was such chaos that the boss had to extend the 4p deadline for time entry to 8a Tuesday morning. My upload didn’t come by the time I left, but should be there in the morning. Hopefully it will upload without incident because HR hasn’t messed anything up, like last week.
Welcome to the Canteen, zlala...hope you “enjoy” the remembering.
Thank you for your story. I’m also in the Seattle area - and like NYC - it was a beautiful clear blue sky. It is my birthday and I was sleeping in. My wife had the TV on as she was getting the three kids ready for school.
When she told me the news I figured it was a small plane. Then she came in with the news that a second plane just hit - and it was huge.
Sitting with the kids watching it - I was thinking “this changes everything”. I thought that our economy would go in the tank - but thank goodness all of those firms had backup data, and that “only” 3,000 people died - I was expecting tens of thousands.
I remember going outside in the middle of the night when I heard the drone of the military radar(?) plane as it headed north and listening to it drone on. And then again an hour or so later as it would head south again.
The saddest one was we were at the kid’s start-of-school picnic - maybe the second week of school and ten(?) days after 9-11. Another beautiful day with no clouds. A hundred kids and families out on the playground having a picnic, playing around, etc.
All of a sudden a little girl (2nd grade or so) cries out “Look - an airplane!”. Not out of fear I don’t think - just it was the first one any of us had seen since 9-11. It just made me sad to think that those terrorists had even made the little kids aware of what they had done, and that seeing an airplane in the sky was so unusual that it got so much attention. (Everyone stopped what we were doing to watch it!)

It’s hard to believe it’s been 17 years, isn’t it?
I think it was my brother that told me about some friends that went on a fly-in camping fishing trip. Pilot drops them off at a camp that is already setup for a week.
The week goes by and no float plane to pick them up. They waited for quite awhile, then after several(?) days or more they figure the pilot must have crashed - and no one will be looking for them. So they start planning on how to hike out the xx miles through rough terrain.
The following day the plane came and picked them up before they had left camp.
In me re-telling the story, that would have been really foolish. I’m pretty sure they were on a paid trip through a service. If the plane had crashed, the guide company would have figured it out fairly quickly, and sent a plane to search, etc.
Fortunately I won’t need to remember ALL the details Mark gave me. Just the important ones. I’ve already considered typing up a “cheat sheet” to help out at the beginning. LOL
Your 80s will feel better than ours because we’ll have that darn humidity, for sure. Ugh! But it won’t be too high so it’ll be fine. We hope we’ve seen the last of the 90s for this year.
BRRRR! Lows in the 30s? Might want to haul a coat along as well as those sweaters!!!
What’s your excitement level these days?
