John McCain's Bitter Exit
Eagle Action Report ^ | 9/1/2018 | Felicia Tweedy

Posted on 09/01/2018 7:54:02 AM PDT by Abakumov

McCain’s memorial remembrances were filled with themes of unity, inclusion, and compromise. They stressed how McCain was someone who could reach across the aisle, find consensus, and put differences aside to bring people together for the greater good.

It’s too bad McCain’s final actions contradicted that message...

Senator McCain had a perfect opportunity to be the “maverick” of his reputation. He could have been the unifier. He could have done the right thing by allowing even those he had unresolved issues with, differences with, to come and pay their respects and to honor him. He could have shown the country, not just in words but in action, that no matter how great the differences we have with one another, we can move beyond them, beyond the anger, bitterness, pain, even our own pride and ego, to come together to do what is best for America.

John McCain could have done all these noble things. But he didn't.

By tomorrow evening he will be 6 feet underground and a distant memory.

Then onward to keeping America great.

This entire event is shameful to this Country.

I have my doubts where the soul of John McCain has gone...

One day, Bush Hussein, Clinton, and Carter will all be gone also..will their families try to out do the McCain family? probably...dirty Politics. nothing else...
I'm so tired of it...I'm also embarrassed that DJT’s daughter and son in law decided to show up..wasn't necessary at all..I think she is showing disrespect for her Father and the office he holds..enough said..

I hope our Nation can heal from all this ‘showing off’ and the dirty politics of it all..

His requesting @$$holes, Warren Beatty, Michael Bloomberg and Gary Hart to be his pallbearers, says an awful lot about this guy

All your named pallbearers voted for Obama.

Happy to learn that his feted corpse will never sully the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery. The rotten son-of-a-bitch should have been stuffed into a Hefty trash bag and dumped in an “unmarked” landfill. Rot in hell, you evil treasonous bastard!

He was always a loser..wrecked three planes...ran out on the U.S.S. Forrestal fire. A lousy, disinterested pilot...he also spilled his guts to the North Vietnamese. Left his first wife after her auto accident, with her three kids. He was always an obstructionist and NOT a republican...part of the Keating 5 and bailed on them once he realized an indictment was probably coming.
I my opinion he was a turd (894 in a class 899 in the U.S. Naval Acadamy)

I doubt that a lot of people have watched the event. The press and networks are pushing it because they know McCain shared their hatred of Trump. But viewers won’t be as interested. ‘Rat viewers will not be interested in a send-off for a Republican who ran for president against their man-god Obama. Republicans not from Arizona, and especially conservatives won’t watch because they know McCain was a bitter traitor.

While Palin and, probably, Trump voted for the guy.

Bizarre. Did McCain agree with them? "The only good Republican...."

Wasn’t today an invitation only event?

I would have never attended if I was Ivanka. What is she going to do, go up to Meghan and offer her condolences? I can only imagine the response or evil eye look she would get.

I wonder if the purpose of Cindy laying the wreath at the Memorial was for this very purpose?

They stressed how McCain was someone who could reach across the aisle, find consensus, and put differences aside to bring people together for the greater good.

The bolded clause is what makes this statement nonsense. McCain always "reached across the aisle" to the detriment of this country.

I’m mystified by the slew of McCain-adoring letters in the New York Post yesterday. Was that all they got? Hard to believe.

I told my beloved that if such nasty, bitter wishes were among his last as he lay dying of brain cancer, I would not honor them. His family could easily have overridden the small, petty dictates. Especially as regards Palin, but when he was somewhat with it he did write in his book that choosing her as his running mate was the biggest mistake in his life ... and I’m sure he believed that.

This evening’s burial @ Annapolis cannot come too soon and the McCain family’s return to AZ, not ever to return to DC would be grand.

Totally agree. I have lost so much of my goodwill for her.
