President Donald Trump will officially not be attending Sen. John McCain’s funeral, a spokesman for the deceased lawmaker said Monday.
McCain passed away Saturday evening after a nearly year-long fight with brain cancer. McCain passed away only one day after announcing that he was discontinuing treatment for his illness. The former senator continued to carry out his senatorial duties while undergoing treatment.
McCain previously made his funeral wishes clear to Trump months before he died. The senator and president feuded several times throughout the 2016 presidential campaign and while in office, with McCain casting the deciding vote against an Obamacare overhaul.

McCain was lucky he didn't spend his last year in prison.
“There have been plenty of political and personal feuds in the history of our country, this is just one of many.”
The problems between John McCain and President Trump were not a feud.
It was only after McCain publicly called Trump supporters “crazies” that Trump defended his supporters and questioned McCain’s being a media described hero.
McCain wanted Hillary Clinton to win and did everything possible to sabotage the Trump campaign.
Even after that Trump tried to work with him.
Cain then knifed Trump in the back, betrayed him and criticized him.
McCain hated Trump for winning. Trump understood that but still tried to work with McCain.
President. One of these men earned that title, one did not. One never forgave the other for that accomplishment.
That is fine with me. Good decision.

I like to see a man who stands strongly on his principles. Trump is not a politician. He is a doer.

The people at his funeral will be political types and hanger oners. Wonder if any if his buds from the Navy will be there. Wonder if he has any buds from the Navy?
Maybe John F’ing Kerry will be there and render a salute?
POTUS, whoever that may be, should attend teh funeral of a U.S. Senator.
I think Trump will have last laugh.. When he declassifies all of those documents, McCain will be all over them and his illegal activities.
I hope Trump finds a way to “steal” attention from this dead rat’s internment. Maybe he can announce signing a trade deal with Canada the same day, or firing that other rat Sessions.

But after being released from being a POW you devolved into a petty, vicious bully and stayed that way right up until you met the Reaper. Trump stood up to your aggressive BS and self-serving chest thumping and you couldn’t handle it. Then you choose to shoot the bird to Trump and the deplorables, the scum in your eyes who defied you with your obamacare vote. Honestly me and millions of other Republicans were not surprised in the least it was expected of your ilk.
Consider in the Republican party of the last 40 years which Republican senator could not ever be counted on to support any Republican, much less conservative idea? My father, wife, brothers, and hundreds of thousands of long time Republicans considered you nothing more than a traitor, a consummate back stabber. They knew if there was a fight you would cut and run or turn on them at an opportune time for YOU.
To you Trump and his supporters as beneath you: crude, vulgar, peasants but they-we, all have far more honor and character than you could ever dream of having and that made you even more angry, vindictive, and a bitter old man.
