John McCain, the longtime senator and 2008 GOP presidential candidate who refused to leave fellow prisoners of war behind to escape years of torture in Vietnam, and whose maverick streak as Arizona’s senior statesman at times frustrated fellow Republicans and confounded President Donald Trump, has died, his family confirmed in a statement Saturday.
He was 81and had been diagnosed with brain cancer in July 2017.
McCain had decided to discontinue medical treatment for the glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, his family announced on Aug. 24. He had surpassed expectations for his survival, but "the progress of disease and the inexorable advance of age render their verdict," the statement said.

So true. When my mom had liver cancer they increased her morphine and within a couple of days she was gone. The same thing happened to my sister when she had breast cancer. The morphine shuts down the vital organs pretty quickly.
Juan McLame has now joined his best buddy, Ted Kennedy. May they both rest in pieces.
When in hospice care they basically increase the morphine to essentially kill the patient.

Are you familiar with what John McCain did when families of MIA and POW were in Washington trying to find out what happened with their loved ones? It was very wrong.
I think they removed treatment way before yesterday’s announcement. The last few weeks you can’t eat, move, talk, sometimes lose your eyesight, pretty much comatose.

I can’t mourn McCain’s passing, but neither will I celebrate it.
The Lord has taught me that someone who has gone out into eternity isn’t something to make light of.

No one has done more damage to our republic in the past 20 years than John McCain. He was a corrupt, backstabbing ego maniac. He deserves no praise. He deserves our ridicule. I feel for his family, who seem like good people, but McCain brought every criticism on himself.
Yes, but perhaps NOW we’ll get back the surviving Vietnam POWs McCain made it illegal to even look for.
