“the Holy Scripture is itself the product of the Catholic Church.”

Therein lies the problem. Scripture predated the church last time I read the Bible.

And apparently what is or is not Holy Scripture is up to whoever is pope on any given day. One day the death penalty is okay, the next day it isn’t.

Some books of the Bible are of Hebrew origin and predate Christ and His Church. The Holy Scripture as a whole is the product of the Catholic Church.

It is also true that the so-called Protestant Reformation removed some books and mangled some translations. That damage, of course, is not from the Church.

The teaching on the death penalty at all times is and was conssitent with the state of civil jurisprudence. When just and secure incarceration was not possible, the Church tolerated death penalty. Now she doesn't. (Wiki)

I will not enter a discussion on the Bible or the Death penalty beyond this, it is off-topic on the question of homosexual culture in the Church.

Thus; the Holy Scriptures describe the activities of the Catholic Church in Revelation chapters 2&3; showing how true to the Apostle's teaching it has always been.
