Cardinal Burke: ‘Very Grave Problem of Homosexual Culture in the Church
Breitbart ^ | Nolte

Posted on 08/17/2018 8:40:24 AM PDT by wardaddy

Cardinal Raymond Burke has called for “open recognition” of the Catholic church’s homosexual culture in light of recent revelations of sexual abuse. “I believe that there needs to be an open recognition that we have a very grave problem of a homosexual culture in the Church,” Burke said in an interview Thursday, “especially among the clergy and the hierarchy, that needs to be addressed honestly and efficaciously.”

he former head of the church’s equivalent of the Supreme Court said it was already “clear after the studies following the 2002 sexual abuse crisis that most of the acts of abuse were in fact homosexual acts committed with adolescent young men.”

“There was a studied attempt to either overlook or to deny this,” he said, referring to the mainstream media cover-up of the homosexual nature of the abuse as well as such denial within the church itself.

Not so, that is Protestant slander and it is intentional. Protestantism would not stand for one day if it stopped lying about the Church.

If this were the Religion forum and not the news forum, you’d be instantly banned for mind-reading for that comment.

What I find delightfully ironic is the fact that in your last post to me, you continue to insist that you have to have works to be justified, and then get angry and accusatory when we describe Roman doctrine as works-based.

And you expose your paganism in catholiciism. You deceive so many by ignoring what JESUS said to His disciples a bit further on in that John 6 chapter. You also deceive by cancelling the command of God found many times in the OT to not eat the blood.

Catholicism is not Christianity, it is, as Paul describe you folks, 'another religion'. That catholiciism tries to look like the body of believers, even conflating the term 'Church' with the truth of EKKLESIA immediately exposes your priestly function of deception.

Because you do not rightly discern the Body of Christ as the sum of all who tryst in Him as their Savior, and ONLY HIM, your ritual of blood and flesh is heresy.

You seem to be under the impression that Protestants don’t teach that we should be doing good works.

Which is intentional Catholic slander, and Rome wouldn’t last for a day if they stopped lying about what non-Catholics believe.

Oh, and so much for a serious tone.

I didn’t think it would last.

You don’t have any control over who responds to you

Oh, she can post whatever she wants, -- I am just pointing out that I didn't ask any Protestant's opinions. I am here to answer questions.

I can’t speak for my friends that I pinged, but I can absolutely guarantee you, I am not interested in Catholic opinions either, so that makes two of us. I am an ex catholic. I will always be an ex catholic. I will always have assurance of salvation. If you don’t, that’s your problem bro.
It would appear to me, some of us will go to Heaven, and others will go somewhere else, and I surely don’t mean Purgatory, which is more false doctrine. There is only one Purgatory. It’s in Colorado, and the skiing ⛷ is great.
If you are here to answer questions, then my question would be, when will you begin to interpret the Bible correctly?

“I am just pointing out that I didn’t ask any Protestant’s opinions. I am here to answer questions.”

But your answers never back up the claims you make.
Your posted verses never say what you claim.

Maybe you should put those ears to better use.

“That canon says that the increase of grace in return for good works is truly assured through the merits of Christ.”

The Scriptures never say anything like that - anywhere.

They say the opposite.

Why do you listen to the words of men and not the Word of God.

“That canon says that the increase of grace in return for good works is truly assured through the merits of Christ.”

Selling Indulgences was based on this false foundation of a treasury of merit.

When Luther and others pointed out this falsehood to Rome,
Catholicism chose money and paganism over Christ and grace.

True believers - the redeemed - left to follow Christ.

They were hunted and slaughtered by popes and false religion for following Christ.

And here you are, singing the same old falsehood.

“labour the more, that by good works you may make sure your calling and election (1 Peter 1:10)”

Ever says good works “draws grace to you.”

Here’s a tip: posting a verse that doesn’t say what you claim, isn’t evidence for your assertions.

Here’s another tip: start with what God revealed in scripture instead of what men say.

“That is what reading and understanding the Holy Scripture is.

No. The see and say method is not “study to show yourself approved...”

It is intellectual laziness.

“No. He is suggesting that the root problem is homosexuality (or probably more correctly pederasty) and not pedophilia, as a large majority of the abuses were committed on post-pubescent males.”

The root problem is sin.

The scripture you are citing, Romans 3-4 speaks of “works of the law”, meaning specifically, the Jewish law mandating circumcision. Indeed, works made out of legal obligation, or for temporal reward, do not save anyone. The Romans, for example, did not have to get circumcised in order to obtain salvation. That is Catholic teaching, expressed beautifully by St. Paul.

No, read it again. Pay attention to chapter 4 which says of Abraham:

What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, discovered in this matter? If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. What does Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Abraham was justified by faith BEFORE the Law even existed (400 years before)! I know it is Catholic teaching to ignore that fact which is why we say Catholicism preaches an accursed gospel. I pray you are freed from the false idea that you can merit salvation by your works - you can't. So that NO ONE may boast.

“merit” implies paying a price and demanding a good in return. “Invite” means ask for a good while not deserving it.

LOL! More weasel words! If you have a problem with the use of the word "merit", take it up with your magisterium. Ask them to change what they declared at Trent.

So AMPU, I guess you liked the videos and pics from Paradise Island, in the Island Garden City of Samal? See how close they were swinging those fire pots at us? It was interesting, and we were truly suffering for Jesus out there. 😁😇
Let me say this too. I am glad I was never a catholic apologist. Maybe it hastened my departure from the “one true church.” 🤣😁 I was actually embarrassed to be a catholic. Deep in my heart, I had always wished I was NOT a catholic. When I was finally confronted with the truth, I dumped the Catholic Church, VERY quickly, and got off the Roman hamster wheel of guilt.

I am telling you what you need to do in order to be saved and spend eternity with Christ. What you want is of no importance, the world does not revolve around your wants.

What ANYONE needs in order to be saved is faith in Jesus Christ, believing in Him who died for our sins and was raised for our justification. Roman Catholicism teaches an accursed gospel and is not what anyone needs.

Really an amazing place!! Wish I was there. Our kitchen is being renovated and I'm ready to escape!

You were blessed to leave a false religion and hear the voice of God to come to Christ.

Great Choice Bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The situation is happening now. Wait until what’s been going on in New Jersey comes out. McCarrack has been working that territory for 30 years. He has had a beach house where seminarians have been invited every weekend - 5 invited every weekend but only 4 guest beds. That is just the tip of the iceberg.

>>Assurance of salvation isn't based on presumption but PROMISE.<<
This is the promise: I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. (John 6:51-52) If you want to have eternal life, come to the Eucharistic table.

This is THE promise in context:

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” (John 6:35-40)

If you want to have eternal life, you believe on Jesus Christ.
