Cardinal Burke: ‘Very Grave Problem of Homosexual Culture in the Church
Breitbart ^ | Nolte

Posted on 08/17/2018 8:40:24 AM PDT by wardaddy

Cardinal Raymond Burke has called for “open recognition” of the Catholic church’s homosexual culture in light of recent revelations of sexual abuse. “I believe that there needs to be an open recognition that we have a very grave problem of a homosexual culture in the Church,” Burke said in an interview Thursday, “especially among the clergy and the hierarchy, that needs to be addressed honestly and efficaciously.”

he former head of the church’s equivalent of the Supreme Court said it was already “clear after the studies following the 2002 sexual abuse crisis that most of the acts of abuse were in fact homosexual acts committed with adolescent young men.”

“There was a studied attempt to either overlook or to deny this,” he said, referring to the mainstream media cover-up of the homosexual nature of the abuse as well as such denial within the church itself.

Did I ask for your opinion?

Bro, did someone leave you in charge? You don’t have any control over who responds to you. It’s an open forum. Anyone may respond to you, especially when you post, what others consider to be false doctrines, which may be why you get so many responses. If you don’t like people opposing your belief system, then don’t post on an open forum.
I agree with Boatbums. I am an ex catholic, totally thrilled to death with that. I have no questions, that I need some priest to answer. I am NEVER coming back to the RCC. Not now, not ever. Now, I am saved, and I “presume to have salvation.” When I was a catholic, I was on my way to Hell, because I consider the RCC to be a false religion. That may not sit well with you. Oh well. Not my problem. Deal with it.
By the way, AMPU, I am sitting here in my little cottage, at Paradise Island, on the Island Garden City of Samal. I am really suffering for Jesus, here, sipping cool drinks. 😂 I will Viber you some pics and videos of them swinging fire pots in front of my face. Ain’t life grand?

I’ve never gotten any kind of response from Roman Catholics about what’s so bad about believing what God has promised.

Even as an ex catholic, I don’t even know the answer to that. Maybe it is just human pride. Maybe people like to take pride in “helping God save us.” I just don’t know for sure.

“I’ve never gotten any kind of response from Roman Catholics about what’s so bad about believing what God has promised.“

To believe God is to deny the false religion of Rome.

It appears most FROMANS prefer defending a false system to seeking truth.

They prefer the comfort of religion to the Gospel of Grace.

It will need to be God who opens their eyes.

And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

No such thing as Sacrament. It's never mentioned anywhere in Scripture nor is there any prescribed method for attaining God's grace.

Neglect not the grace that is in thee, which was given thee by prophesy, with imposition of the hands of the priesthood (1 Timothy 4:14, similar 2 Timothy 1:6)

Read the Holy Bible every once in a while.

I understand you were taught this and can point to something in the scripture that "sounds" like what you were taught.

That is what reading and understanding the Holy Scripture is. You want to post me a lecture from your pastor insterad? No sale, thanks.

The scripture you are citing, Romans 3-4 speaks of “works of the law”, meaning specifically, the Jewish law mandating circumcision. Indeed, works made out of legal obligation, or for temporal reward, do not save anyone. The Romans, for example, did not have to get circumcised in order to obtain salvation. That is Catholic teaching, expressed beautifully by St. Paul.

examined closely, we see that they are really preaching a works-based salvation

Not so, that is Protestant slander and it is intentional. Protestantism would not stand for one day if it stopped lying about the Church.

“merit” implies paying a price and demanding a good in return. “Invite” means ask for a good while not deserving it.

Can't you see I don't WANT to come back?!

I am telling you what you need to do in order to be saved and spend eternity with Christ. What you want is of no importance, the world does not revolve around your wants.

That canon says that the increase of grace in return for good works is truly assured through the merits of Christ.

Assurance of salvation isn't based on presumption but PROMISE.

This is the promise:

I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. (John 6:51-52)
If you want to have eternal life, come to the Eucharistic table.

A part of a passage taken out of context can justify any doctrine.

And I didn’t see the word “sacrament” in there anywhere.

You don’t have any control over who responds to you

Oh, she can post whatever she wants, -- I am just pointing out that I didn't ask any Protestant's opinions. I am here to answer questions.

If ANY works could save, it would have been the works of the Law.

And if any works could save, then Christ died for nothing.

His death was sufficient or not.

So by claiming that works need to be done, then Christ’s death wasn’t sufficient in and of itself to pay for our sins.

Are you really claiming that?

The increase of grace in return for good works is wages due for our deeds performed.

THAT is works based salvation.

Sorry, I already explained in my last post why that explanation is incorrect. Just reading the opening lines of chapter 4 of Romans and you’ll see that it’s obvious that Paul is speaking of ALL works, not just circumcision.
