Trump looking into revoking security clearances for Brennan, other top Obama officials

President Trump is looking into revoking the security clearances of several top Obama-era intelligence and law enforcement officials, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said Monday.

During the daily press briefing, Sanders told reporters that the president was considering taking away clearances for former FBI Director James Comey, former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, former CIA Director John Brennan, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice and former Director of National Security Michael Hayden (who worked under President George W. Bush).

Rand Paul tweeted just a little while ago that he had just talked to the President on revoking John Brennan’s security clearance.

I’m so glad that he feels strongly about this, I just wonder where are all of the other Republicans.

John Brennan is truly a scary person with a heart full of hatred for President Trump.

He has openly threatened him and should be imprisoned, much less have access to our Intel.

“Clearances are usually valid for five years, and they go with the individual.”
Wrong, they’re good for 10 years, at least the TS-SCI I had lasted from the beginning 1995 till the end of 2004. Also, I worked for Titan Corp at the time and they’re the ones that owned my TS-SCI, when we lost a contract and I went to work for ESN, they had to negotiate with Titan to take control of that clearance or I would have had to start the TS-SCI process over again had Titan not agreed to relinquish it.

Clearance investigations are very extensive. They take months to years to adjudicate. They are cost and manpower intensive

I was going to bring that up too.

My very first SBI in 1965 took several months. I was only 18 and had zero record. Not even a traffic ticket. They even investigated those people I used as references.

I'd heard those cost the government on average $10,000 to do.

That's much of the reason they're only done every five years. Time and money.

I maintained a TS with SCI access for over 30 years. Every five years well before my clearance would expire I had to submit a new DD-398, and finger prints.

Ref. 10 years: that was a previous policy. TS clearance re-investigations are on a 5-year basis now.

Ref. clearance: Titan wouldn’t own your clearance. They would own the billet which your clearance was associated with. The clearance is yours, not the company’s. So, if you went from one contractor to another, the responsible officials holding your clearance (at Titan) would have to do what they call a transfer-in-status to ESN in order for your access to remain active without interruption.

Bottom line: if you have a clearance but you’re not in a cleared billet, you won’t have access to classified information.

The cost is much higher than $10,000. Everything else you wrote was spot-on!

Espionage.

These days, that’s more serious than treason. Treason has gotten ten-year sentences in recent times, and it’s much more difficult to prove.

Good
And Hillary should also have her security clearance removed.
She has committed treason as defined in the Constitution

Then indict her, try her, find her guilty and apply the constitutional penalty.

I prefer the original method

Yeah, I keep forgetting how long ago it was that I had a TS-SCI. And now that you explain the ownership of the clearance that does ring a bell. I just remembered that my new company had to do some negotiating with my old company to get it so I could start doing SCI work again, as I remember it took about a month or six weeks, and I remember that because it was all in office mundane work till I could get back to working with the NSGA and get out on the aircraft carriers again. Thanks for the memory refresher.

But dirty things do go on, I remember that Titan was pissed that I left and followed the contract to ESN and that is why they made it difficult for the clearance to follow me. And yes until it all got straightened out, I was not allowed to do any Tiger Team work or any technical assists to the NSGA, couldn’t do any of the good stuff.

Time to pull the plug on these rascals.

Terminate the security clearances.

No clearances belong to the billet..not the individual. When they left the job, the security clearance is deactivated.

These people like Brennan are working for other companies/think tanks - if their current work environment has TS, S and UNCLAS terminals, they would be able to log into their computer accounts on the respective networks. Pertinent question is “have their accounts been disabled/archived/deleted”

Incorrect. Background investigations are good for 5 years. That tells security what clearance level you are eligible to receive. A clearance is granted on need to know basis and can, and is usually, revoked as soon as you no longer need to know.

President Trump can't do this fast enough for the security of the Oval Office and America. Brennan's vitriol against the Trump administration, not to mention President Trump himself, provides extreme danger for POTUS....Ntl Security Advisor Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett, and all Hillary's State Dept henchmen/computer gurus .....Cheryl Mills, Huma Abedin plus all ex-presidents of the USA...why would they need such a clearance....Bill and Hillary should not even be close to such a security clearance...we know they sold parts of their nation to the highest bidder.

Brenner working for Obama is a dangerous combo for this POTUS. Valerie Jarrett is heading up Obama's OAF which is part of the "Shadow Government" whose aim now is to disrupt President Trump's efforts for America. Who controls Barack Obama you might ask....we know NO ONE controls President Trump.

Actually, what you’re saying is incorrect. Your clearance isn’t “revoked” simply because you leave a job. It will be inactivated, but NOT revoked.
