Wednesday on Hugh Hewitts nationally syndicated radio show, Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he anticipated that Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trumps nominee for the vacancy left by the retiring Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court, would be confirmed during September. Should Kavanaugh be confirmed by mid-September, which Tillis said it was a 100 percent chance probability, it would set Kavanaugh up for the beginning of the high courts term in October.

I hope he is right.
I also hope he is Cantorized at the next election.
Bush League Republicans must become extinct before the Republic does.
Kavanaugh is probably a “good” pick with upside potential, passable with today’s Senate. But after the midterm elections, President Trump should have a Senate that will confirm rock-solid Constitutionalists like Thomas Hardiman and Amy Barrett.
The democrat's "thin RINO wall" is collapsing faster than Hillary's blue wall on election night. My guess, when all is said and done, Kavanaugh is comfortable confirmed with 54 votes. If it appears that he will be confirmed anyway, Schumer will give the red state democrats like Manchin permission to vote for him, as it changes nothing, and forcing them to vote no would just endanger their seats come November.
If every Republican votes yes, and early signals from Collins say she will vote yes, then yes, there is a 100% chance. Democrats have zero power without any Republican defectors, all they can do is kick and scream. They shouldn’t have blew their load nuking the judicial filibuster in 2013, setting the precedent to nuke the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees in 2017. They shouldn’t have gone crazy over Gorsuch, then their antics would have more credibility now. Imagine if they just let Gorsuch go quietly and still have the filibuster, they might have had a shot. Morons.
I agree. If Satan calls Ginsburg home, we should have the numbers for even a Pryor.
Have to laugh at the people sniping at the Kavanaugh pick who also insisted that Roy Moore needed to be defeated like David French. Well, now you’ve got 51 Senators with 3 unreliable votes, one of which is on his deathbed, and if the Democrats could have held the seat open through the elections, their voters would be desperate to turn out and win the Senate in order to try to keep the seat open through 2020. Is that what they wanted?
THE UNITED STATES CONSTITUTION IS IN MORTAL DANGER FROM DEMOCRATS/PROGRESSIVES/SOCIALISTS.
Great!! So why wait so long?! Bring it to a vote in about two weeks!!
I agree with your analysis 100%. The only way Shumer would hold his conference together is if Republicans didn’t have enough votes. I’m sure they’ll pore over the numbers and cut free whichever red state Democrats will get a net boost with a yes vote.
yeah, i figured Kennedy retired when he did so there’d be enough time to get a replacement confirmed before the Court convened in October ...
“Great!! So why wait so long?! Bring it to a vote in about two weeks!!”
well, for one thing, the seat isn’t actually vacant until August 1 ...
And on to the appointment of the man with the next most extensive record of good decisions after Kavanaugh. No political correctness, no affirmative action for nominees. There’s no good reason for it.
They have to have their dog and pony show.
Well Rosenstein and his prosecutors are going to dig deep and give Kavanaugh and anal probe. I am sure they will conjure up some scandal. Dems and the millions of researchers will find some tid bit.
Kavanaugh has always had friends or family present and left no security holes. Being clean cut is a good personal policy for a man headed for the Supreme Court. The so-called resistance would do better to give it up. For us, though, the commies should waste all of their money and energy on impotent foolishness.

Plus, they’re on DC time. Nothing ever happens fast in DC despite the rhetoric. To them it’s at “breakneck speed” but to us in the real world, it’s at a snail’s pace. They do things differently in that town.
