WASHINGTON President Donald Trump on Monday nominated Brett Kavanaugh, a federal appeals court judge in Washington, to succeed Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court. Trump made the announcement at the White House. NBC News broke the story shortly before the president's made his choice public. Kavanaugh serves on the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, which often rules on major challenges to federal laws and policies. If confirmed, he would make the Supreme Court solidly conservative, joining Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch providing a five-vote majority.

Not sure what you mean did a number on them, who do they think he should have picked and why?
Last time I looked it was Trumps decision, and although I love my Evangelical Brothers and Sisters they do not run the country nor are they so numerous as to cow tow to
What is the alternative for them, vote Democratic?

If you like John Roberts you will love Kavanaugh. Did you intend sarcasm with this statement?
Correct me if I'm wrong but CJ John Roberts is the the guy who voted to legalize homosexual marriage and he voted for Obamacare?
No, I do not want another John Roberts on the bench. We need justices willing to "overturn" bad law like Roe v Wade, Obamacare, homo marriage act, etc. Judges who stand by and support all past precedent (stare decisis ) are worthless. Kavanaugh supports stare decisis. He's not a good pick IMHO.

The alternative is not to vote. It happens all the time when conservatives are double-crossed.
To: Lonely Are The Brave
Maybe Trump thinks he will get another pick soon, so he's expecting the Democrats to go over the cliff now with all they have, and he will use his next pick for the truly conservative religious choice?

So why did Donald Trump also pick such an Establishment figure?
Maybe Kennedy made a deal with him? I dont know. It really doesnt seem like a good pick, or a Trump pick.

Yes, make the Democrats go against everything they ever said about the Supreme Court when they picked.

He only thanked Kagan for hiring him to teach at Harvard Law School. He didn’t imply anything about her worth as a justice or her legal philosophy. The man was just being gracious and nothing more.
FReepers are overreacting as usual.
