WASHINGTON President Donald Trump on Monday nominated Brett Kavanaugh, a federal appeals court judge in Washington, to succeed Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court. Trump made the announcement at the White House. NBC News broke the story shortly before the president's made his choice public. Kavanaugh serves on the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, which often rules on major challenges to federal laws and policies. If confirmed, he would make the Supreme Court solidly conservative, joining Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch providing a five-vote majority.

We now need to unite and support President Trumps selection. God knows there will be plenty of opposition from the other side.
Amen!!
Pleasant dreams RBG.
Would Trump have chosen someone who would side with illegal aliens?
At 85 anything could happen, but I don't think she'll be replaced by Trump. At least not in his first term.
I heard most of the Judge's speech tonight, and was quite favorably impressed.
It is now time for the Dems to make fools of themselves with emotive and hyperbolic forecasts of horrible doom .
They do make such a nice contrast with us rational and pro-America adults, don't they?
I bummed by pick.
After reading about Brett Kavanaugh, I have the feeling that if Jeb Bush had won the presidency he would have chosen him for the Supreme Court.
So why did Donald Trump also pick such an Establishment figure?
And his fidelity to the constitution
Pres. Trump did a number on Evangelicals with this pick. He took the easy way out and predict it will hurt him...
He’s written a lot. Many of his decisions have been upheld by SCOTUS
His name was on Trump’s list before the election. You’ve had plenty of time to research if you wanted to
I just made a dark chocolate infused banana bread to finish off a nice dinner of baked salmon with a soy sauce and brown sugar glaze.
I’m finding I enjoy sweet and crispy along with my salty liberal tears.
Or Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch?
Thanks for that affirmation. I really don’t know well the background of the candidates but I do think RBG will be the next to step down and these fine judges will be selected for consideration again.
I’m always concerned a judge will move towards the center and become a swing vote.
Hope Kavanaugh will stay true.
Religious liberty lost tonight...
Did you listen to the man?
By your standard nobody on that list would be eligible
Not evangelicals. Never trumping holier than thous who obsessed on Mike Lee and such.
Kavanaugh is pro 2A, tough on immigration, and pro life.
Another conservative on the Court.
bump
Did you listen to the man?
His fidelity to the constitution is what sealed it
